Hopefully nobody. If anything, I hope this leads to the Djali Zwan lineup of December 2001 making the album. That lineup was 3 guitars and drums. I wasn't a huge fan of the violin use in the more recent acoustic Zwan shows (except for maybe in Friends as Lovers...in that case the violin suited the song). I was personally thinking that Paz's presence in the band would overcomplicate the Djali songs, as the band would have to find ways to add violin solos and off key backup singing in the songs. I think this way, maybe there's a chance that we'll hear Djali songs with the same rawness that the ones we heard in 2001 had.

PS. I think that when/if Zwan plays their first Paz-less show, they should open with Chicks Just Get in the Way.

well, she may have been. the story switches between BC caught paz and sweeney, and sweeney/paz broke up, i'm not sure which. but i think the break up is the correct one, thus leading to the tour cancellation.

I didn't really mind Paz as long as she kept her mouth shut. Her bass playing was certainly adequate and I liked the violin, it's just that her backing vocals were atrocious.

I would hate to see Pajo go, though...

It's not that Paz has a bad voice -- she has a deep voice, and trying to match Billy's high pitched voice was obviously way, way out of her range. I've heard live Paz performances, her APC Hollow remix (she sings), and some of her solo work... the woman really can sing her butt off, as long as she's not trying to match Billy's pitch. For being female, Paz has a very deep, powerful, almost haunting voice. But she obviously couldn't do that in Zwan. Extremely high and extremely low voices singing at the same time would not blend too well. Really she shouldn't have sung in Zwan at all, as much as I appreciate Paz as a musician.

She was so damn good with the violin and bass guitar. It's a shame she's leaving.

Assuming she will get a replacement, I hope that person is male. SP had D'Arcy and Melissa, Zwan had Paz, all three of them playing bass. Enough is enough. I'm not saying that women should not be in a band or something, but with all the emphasis Billy has put on it throughout his career, he himself certainly shouldn't want to make it look too redundant. It would be really cool if Zwan had a female rhythm/effects/whatever guitarist, how many good bands have girls playing guitar outside of bass (unless they're all female bands)? Like, none. If Billy wants to keep running with the female playing guitar thing, it wouldn't hurt to take it a step further. Otherwise, just let it go. He's clearly made a strong enough point about female bassists being in a band.
