I think it's wonderful. It'll most likely make my top 10 of the year.

it is out here on monday, I plan on getting my copy right away, I have only heard Golden Retriever thus far. if it is only half as great as the last record then I know I'm in for a treat

coming from somebody who thinks rings around the world is a near-masterpiece: it's a bit of a letdown. i think they really scaled back their musical ambitions on this one, and while most of the songs are still pleasant and enjoyable, the record doesn't have the zany edge that makes the furries so spectacular. it's still a good record, but after rings and mwng, it's disappointing.

 The Piccolo Snare alone shows how they haven't scaled down their ambitions. I dunno, but the sound is definitely fresh, maybe not by great leaps or anything. But it definitely has damn good songwriting and a new point of view on their part.
