Call me crazy, but from time to time I guess people have outside interests.

he is supposed to be having a signature snare drum coming out through Yamaha. I work at Guitar Center and the other day I asked our Yamaha rep if he knew about and he said that he would ask jimmy about it next week. I don't know why he wouldn't know, but hopefully he'll get back to me with some concrete info.

a drum clinic is not really a money-making endeavor.

you're a moron. thanks for your insight into jimmy's financial situation, though. i know that at least one of the venues wasn't originally charging for admission (although they are now to cover some expenses of the clinic and to limit admission because of high demand), which means that jimmy isn't making anything off of this.

taken from that classic Homerpalooza episode:

"Dude, are you being sarcastic?"
"I don't even know anymore." (tears up)

i would think that neiter Jimmy or Billy would be hurting for cash. They have real albums under their belt.

i mean look at D'arcy she hasn't had to come out and try to make more money. But then maybe she is selling crack or milk.. powder milk ;)

oh dude. that would be so awesome. wonder if they're all going to turn into a Jimmy Chamberlin SP Q&A session or something. Which wouldn't be bad either. I can just see all these fans who have never held drumsticks in their lives, trying to act like they have some sort of idea as to what they're doing. or something.

uh, this doesn't really happen at a drum clinic. usually there is someone on stage, and an audience in chairs watching him. there is no percussion involvement from the audience.

wow I had no clue. I thought there was some sort of participation :erm. what the crap. where's the "foot in mouth" icon when you need it.

So what exactly is the purpose of a drum clinic? can you learn something just by watching like that?

you're maybe thinking of a drum circle, where a group of people all jam together on various percussion instruments.

the purpose of a drum clinic is for percussionists to learn something. it's kind of like a lecture and demonstration. usually the performer will play a little bit, then maybe talk some and answer a few questions, then play again, etc.
