But man . . . he’s dead . . . so they’re playing “Thanks for the memories”. Don’t you get the beautiful understatement of that? “Thanks for the Memories” Bob Hope, we love you, you’re dead, but thank you.

Brings a tear to my eye every time.

One time, I saw this thing about Bob Hope at the Library of Congress and it was interesting. But I don’t remember what it was. I think maybe it was that his real name was something really funny sounding and perhaps he did blackface or maybe it was vaudeville or maybe blackface and vaudeville. I don’t remember. Anyway. Yes, thanks for the memories Bob. Oh yeah!!! It was in the same room where they had the script to the Seinfeld episode where they try to get the TV show and George says it’s a show about nothing. Nothing!!! Man what was the deal with that room???? Bob Hope, blackface, Seinfeld, vaudeville. Anyway. This song really sucks. Oh yeah!!! Bob Hope was british that was the funny thing. Cuz he was like a hero to all the soldiers but he was British. And he had a funny British name, but he changed it so he could do blackface or vaudeville or both.
