You must choose.
View Full Version : Pick the better Arena Band Nimrod's Son 07-11-2003, 08:30 PM You must choose. peabody 07-11-2003, 08:33 PM it should be "best" and seeing as I've only seen tool and a perfect circle...i'd say a perfect circle, because the tool show I saw blew ass. Irrelevant 07-11-2003, 08:42 PM i wouldn't pay $1 to see any of them live. well maybe Tool. if it was like across the street and a dollar i'd see them. so Tool. pale blue eyes 07-11-2003, 08:59 PM A Perfect Circle patrick 07-11-2003, 09:14 PM how did APC become an arena band? weird Nimrod's Son 07-11-2003, 09:44 PM Originally posted by peabody it should be "best" and seeing as I've only seen tool and a perfect circle...i'd say a perfect circle, because the tool show I saw blew ass. If I had put best everyone would be arguing "but Radiohead is teh best!!!1!" or whatever band they wanted to throw into the mix. peabody 07-11-2003, 11:21 PM i mean grammatically "better" is wrong. 'cause you're talking about more than 2 things. yeah. :erm strange_one 07-11-2003, 11:40 PM none Cassius 07-11-2003, 11:45 PM Iv not actually seen any of them live, though most id like to and im seeing the chilis and the foos in august. However iv seen lots of live vids of janes addiction chilis+foos. Chilis seem very cool and very tight performers, not very good at the whole talking to the audience thing, i cant keep a straight face at anything john flea or chad say in interviews cos they are kinda loveable but kiedis is just bland, and he seems to do the talking live! :( Dave Grohl says 'YEAH!' far too much during songs :) Janes Addiction seem absolutely mesmerising. I pick the Janes their music seems so 'live band' ish, if you know what i mean. Just my dumb opinions :) MstrGhost 07-11-2003, 11:51 PM tool 02/06/04 the best concert i've ever and maybe will have ever been too. Eulogy 07-12-2003, 12:38 AM The only one I've seen is Tool. And they were quite good. Both times. <3 Irrelevant 07-12-2003, 01:04 AM Originally posted by peabody i mean grammatically "better" is wrong. Enzed 07-12-2003, 02:24 AM The only one I HAVEN'T seen live is APC - and it does depend on the tour, too. Was RHCP 1991 better than when I saw them Last year? Maybe. Pearl Jam 1995 or 1998? Foos 2003 or 1998? I'm going for Pazza Jazza.:erm guz 07-12-2003, 03:47 AM Tool. El Savior 07-12-2003, 04:10 AM tool Nimrod's Son 07-12-2003, 04:14 AM Originally posted by guz Tool. This whole "Maynard hides and ignores the crowd the whole show" is total shit. APC is no arena band, Janes and RHCP would be up there if this were the early/mid 90's, and I don't care for PJ or the Foo. So Tool (who I ended up seeing 7 times on that last tour). Boycott Graceland 07-12-2003, 05:05 AM maybe jane's addiction. the rest are boring now. oclaftap 07-12-2003, 07:26 PM definitely the chili peppers in the years back BlueStar 07-12-2003, 07:38 PM Tool Eulogy 07-12-2003, 07:51 PM Originally posted by Nimrod's Son Tool was SO much better >1999. (He still stayed in the back...but he was rather energetic.) oui henri 07-13-2003, 11:13 AM I know that RHCP sucked live when i saw them in 1999, so, that rules them out. Ugly 07-13-2003, 03:07 PM Foo Fighters but if I could add a write in vote I'd choose Green Day. oui henri 07-13-2003, 03:24 PM Originally posted by Ugly Foo Fighters i saw them in Mississauga this past week and they really impressed me compared to the other 3 times when i saw them live and wasn't impressed. mercurial 07-13-2003, 06:27 PM Janes Farrell is an amazing showman ... I liken him to Freddie Mercury or something - only slightly less camp with better songs jczeroman 07-15-2003, 02:49 PM Foos Ugly 07-15-2003, 02:53 PM Originally posted by oui henri i saw them in Mississauga this past week and they really impressed me compared to the other 3 times when i saw them live and wasn't impressed. I wanted to go that Missisauga show but couldn’t get it together in time. Also I wasn’t sure if it was sold out or not anyway. I only saw them live that one time at Summersault in Barrie but I thought they were the best band there. Dave Ghorl taking the mic out into the crowd singing “My Hero” against the sunset was one of my best memories of that day. matt reeder 07-16-2003, 01:52 AM I've heard Tool is great...but I sincerely doubt they are better live than Pearl Jam. As far as arena rock goes, there isn't ANYBODY better than Pearl Jam. |
