View Full Version : Pablo Honey Appreciation Post
Why Am I So Ugly? 06-15-2003, 05:56 PM Ok, it pales in comparison to the other LPs but its very underappreciated and not awful like a lot of people make it out to be. Thom's vocal performance on this album are second only to the Bends and it has the song that easily breaks into my top 5 radiohead songs - Lurgee
eyesbomb 06-15-2003, 06:01 PM it's a beautiful album.
96.5 percent of the people only piss on it 'cause of prejudices, and it's a shame
yeha it pales and blah blah blah, but hell give me You and Blow Out and I'm satisfied forever

Hail to the Thief.
I'm not mad for their latest effort but if there's one thing on HTTT which is untoppable are the vocals
sawdust restaurants 06-15-2003, 06:53 PM Great songs:
Creep
Good songs:
You
Anyone Can Play Guitar
Lurgee
Blow Out
The rest are mediocre but listenable, except for "How Do You" and "Ripcord," which are really, really bad.
Junebug 06-15-2003, 08:25 PM I don't think I'm ever going to buy this album. I've never heard anyone talk that much about how great it is. well besides you now I guess.
Random Female 06-15-2003, 09:00 PM well... it's kind of a must if you like radiohead so much you want to shoot it like heroin. or that's just how i am about bands I really like. I just... want what they got.
Salena Child 06-15-2003, 09:59 PM eh.
Debaser 06-16-2003, 01:08 AM I do indeed like Pablo Honey. I purchased it as soon as I heard "Creep".
I wonder how many of the all the radiohead fans that hate Pablo Honey purchased it after the bends or ok computer? So of course in comparison, they were sorely disappointed...

smashingjj 06-16-2003, 08:53 AM Pablo Honey is not terrible, though if you compare it to the other RH albums it might be. It's not good, either, the biggest past of it bores me. I think most people could agree over its best songs: You, Blow Out and especially Creep.

ya, and you know because you can read our thoughts over the internet. i think the prejudice is a defense mechanism that is used to help explain why others don't always agree with you. just my opinion.

Ehhhhh...The vocals are the drawback in HTTT if you ask me. I guess its age but where Thoms voice was smooth and liquid in the Bends, its more whiny and snarly in HTTT which doesn't become him. I dunno, call it Corgan-syndrome, but I do not like the vocals on HTTT too much.
Nimrod's Son 06-16-2003, 01:00 PM Pablo Honey is one of the best Jerky Boys calls ever.
neopryn 06-17-2003, 07:41 PM I like Thinking About You
pale blue eyes 06-17-2003, 09:27 PM It was good enough to make me want to purchase The Bends so it served its purpose.
