yeah, that's not the motto at this new hub. as of last night, there was still only one person (the leaker) sharing it.

Am I the only one who hasn't listened to the Metro show in any form? Well, there's obviously Fuck You from the videos DVD and the CNN clip, but that's all I've heard. I don't plan on listening to this crap recording either. I'm holding out for the good shit, and if it never comes out, so be it.

this is how i feel, but i think it's more or less apathy on my part.
if someone wanted to snail male trade me, then sure, but i'm not downloading even more clients and whatnot, searching for the show, ect to get it.
if this was back in my heyday as a pumpkins fan, then i'd be all over it. *shrug*

Very, very accurate and well said. I listened to the first couple songs of the crap recording where the CD wasn't turned off going into Rocket and then stopped...it just doesn't do the memories justice.

Maybe you just have a better memory than I do. Almost all my specific memories from the shows are faded, ripped, and torn up. The fondest one I have is that of Billy's guitar solo during Silverfuck, of which I'm sure there were many, but this one was beyond belief. It was on par with Hendrix at Woodstock. You could literally hear the guy's soul coming through the guitar. Maybe I'm just crazy and it didn't really happen, but that is one memory I won't ever lose. There's also the memory of the drumstick that Jimmy threw into the audience and me snatching it from the air. That drumstick is pretty beat up. It was pretty cool to get Jimmy to sign it at the aftershow party. That was one long night. Oh yeah, then there's the biggest memory of all. The moment I was hanging out and drinking vodka in Roth's hotel room, and deciding that I wasn't going to tape. Big fucking mistake. The security searches were bullshit, and I easily could have gotten in. I only would have had three minutes to setup my gear, since they lost one of the guestlist sheets for the longest time.

I wasn't at the final Metro show, so I don't have any fond memories of it, but I haven't and won't listen to the final show in any form accept for something the band releases. The only thing I have heard is the 1979 from Full Circle and An Ode to No One from the GH DVD.

If others want to hear an audience recorded version, enjoy, listen all you want.

But, there are enough other SP shows I can listen too to satisfy my appetite.

Now, if we could ever uncover 25 Songs O'Pumpkins, that is something I really want to see and hear. It is out there, I just don't of anyone who is willing to let it out.

2000 Metro show would be great, but the following would be better

25 Songs O'Pumpkins video
Avalon
6/22/91 Metro
anything from 88-90 not circulating.

That is my two cents worth,

Brian

maybe. Fares, Fresko, D4, 34, Briggeman, many many old school amspers and I were waiting in the lobby until five minutes before the band came on stage. I was going up the stairs when MCIS started playing on the PA. I don't know what was happening. They couldn't find some box of envelopes with names on the front of the envelopes and tix inside for the longest time. I had no idea that the guestlist was plus-one, so I was pretty suprised to find two tickets in my envelope. I gave my extra ticket and afterparty sticker to Agnew, which he said he'd give to someone outside waiting in the cold without a ticket. Hopefully the guy didn't go scalp it... I don't think he'd do a thing like that though.

Drinking wodka in his hotel room is about the only thing I remember. But then, I have this problem with drinking wodka ;) Next thing I remember was sitting outside Trents apartment building trying to ring him up to get him to open the freaking door. I must have made a weird impression on the clerks in the hotel next door. I guess you don't get too many street bums flying over from to europe to roam the streets of Chicago, hehe.

You seemed to have missed the point. I won't ever listen to the recording, so me being happy about its existence is futile. And to further prove my point, I could have had it a year ago. I wasn't interested then, and I am still not interested.

I think the fact that it was their final show and it wasnt recorded in high quality sucks. It was such a special show...having a sub par recording of it just doesnt do it justice. What the recording does remind of though...is how horrible and disrspectful the crowd was during the show.

I guess it depends on song. I wasn't there, but yes Mayonaise & Fuck You sound really good ( in terms of participation and enthusiasm of audience), but listen to SIYL, Perfect or Go - maybe it were only the chicks near the taper - but they really suck..

apparently bit torrent's 'weakness' is that the only way to download stuff on their is passed around word of mouth, not like a WinMX or KaZaa -esque searching mechanism...

There are some websites that have forums around that you can search through, but nothing with loads of content, it seems to me that this is pretty much emerging slowly but surely. Give it some time.
