(but then i always thought Soma was least tunefu/memorable track on SD when compared to the likes of Hummer and Silverfuck so maybe it's just me...)

hmm...

i like the lyrics to lucky, and the music just amplifies those feelings. "pull me out of the car crash..." that does it everytime for me.

course i also bought the album for "fitter happier" so i too might be weird.

Soma is so bad. Lucky is pretty good. I don't get how/if people dig the Tourist.

I always wondered that one myself. It's the only track on OK Computer that I feel wouldn't have been missed if it were left off the album. I definatly think that Lucky is an amazing song though, and when I seen Radiohead live it was easily the best song they played on the night.

Lucky > The Tourist = No Surprises

Why does the album end with its three weakest songs?

The Tourist and No Surprises are fantastic. it's just that Lucky is pretty plain.

the tourist is probably the best ballad they've ever done, "pyramid song" notwithstanding. and "no surprises" is a fantastic single. "lucky" is really good; next to those two songs, though, like rp said, it's pretty plain. it was recorded before the rest of the album, i believe, or at least at the beginning of the sessions.

You are truly fucked beyond all repair. Soma is one of the best songs on SD (I know, the whole album is full of gems), and is IMO in the top 5 of all SP songs recorded.

That's my order too! Except switch Exit Music with Airbag.
