Assuming this is due to poor attendence/sales as opposed to personal/family problems, this sucks for the band as far as talking about their mainstream commercial viability goes. But I think most of us have known for months that they've been barking up the wrong tree on that front. Too bad they're finding this out the hard way.

On the other hand, maybe instead of coming back here with their tail between their legs, they'll take a short break to rehearse some new material (Djali/old True Poets/totally new songs etc.), book some club dates for a month or two from now and make people realize what was so exciting about this band just a year ago. Don't get me wrong, I love Zwan to death, but six months of virtually the exact same setlist (though always excellently played) has chipped away greatly at the promise created by the excitement of the band's first few months. Once they find that early dynamism again, people will start flocking back to the concerts.

Well if people in other countries followed the same "Buy it as soon as it is onsale" philosophy of the US then they may not have canceled it. However it seems that every other country's fans think they should buy tickets the day of the show.

Point taken. I realize its unfair to the band to speculate as to the reasons behind this stuff before anything is known for sure. The last thing I'd want to come off as is someone who is somehow rooting against Zwan being successful or gloating when things don't go to plan for them. I just hope all is well with the band and that this situation provides an opportunity for some more positive news in the future.

I feel like I got a preview of this shit when Billy decided to cut the set short for the Seattle show. The whole band wanted to be out there, but I guess Billy just wasn't happy with a decent-sized crowd cheering and calling and loving him.

I guess once you have huge stadium tours like from the Mellon Collie era, you get addicted. So I guess it's not his fault, since he can't help it, but he's still a cunt for ditching all of Europe like that. Does he think that will increase sales/audiences/love? It's just alienating current fans, and informing potential ones that the band is full of shit.

its not odd, david seems very down to earth and humble. its cool that he's been posting, but i am sure it will go away once the idiots start coming to the board.

billy really doesn't care to post at zwan.com. remember all of the responses he used to get at the o-board? i mean seriously, would you post? lol

Nah, I don't think the ticket sales are it. Maybe they wanted to start the Djali album earlier...maybe have a break..who knows. The majority of the dates they were going to play were festival dates: guaranteed audience and they were making money on the deal. I think it's probable that they wanted a break or they wanted to start the album earlier.

I don't like to bring up the Pumpkins while talking about zwan, but as far as I know SP never did anything like this. To cancel half of a Euro tour? A little strange for Corgan. I'd like to hear the reasoning behind this.

sorry to all the people who got screwed out of seeing Zwan. They do put on a pretty good show. Made me like them more.

Yeah, I thought it's this way, too, but it's not. It starts at 2pm on Friday and it ends at 2pm on Saturday. I've already found one train from Brno to Wien at 3 pm, in Wien I should be at 5:30pm and then every hour there's a train to St.Polten. The only problem is the train from Brno comes to the Sudbahnhof and the train for St.Polten leaves from WestBahnhof. Are thery far away from each other?

Because EU referendum is more important, so I wanna do that on Friday. I don't want to hurry back from St.Polten with doubts/fears if I'll make it till 2 pm. Alright, there's a train at 6:30 pm to St.Polten - one last question, do you know the number of the tram?

9pm sounds good - I guess I will be there (by the soundboard) even earlier if I'll make it on time as I don't want to move there during the Sportfreunde Stiller set (starts at 20.30). Alright, also abgemacht! :)

When the band decided last night to cancel the rest of the tour, then it`s logical that no festival management or record company can give a statement via eMail to seperate people this afternoon.

They will do an official announcement not later than tomorrow I`m sure

As far as I've seen on that board a lot of people are pissed for a few reasons:

1. Travel expenses. Some people spent a lot of money to get to these shows and a lot of those tickets are non-refundable.

2. Festival tickets. Some were going to these Euro music festivals just to see Zwan and of course, these types of tickets are not refundable. The only tickets that are refundable are the ones with Zwan only on the bill, but not festival tickets.

3. The people who were genuinely looking forward toward these shows because they had never seen Zwan before. Yep, they're pissed.

okay i know this is very seven years ago but.. something in the back of my head wonders "what if jimmy is drugging again and that's why they've canceled?"

i remember billy saying in countless interviews at that time that after jimmy's first overdose in europe, they told him they would immedietly halt the tour in order for him to seek help. this abrupt halt of a tour has me wondering.. hmm...
