Either Hummer or Soma. I can't decide.

I'm surprised they didn't play Zero at the final show.

But um... I'd have to say... either Crestfallen, or The Aeroplane Flies High.

i still can't believe they didn't play it

i would've liked them to open w/ quiet or bodies, each would've kicked the show off right

i think that was a little symbolic

i thought "last instrumental" sounded like crestfallen but i might've just been imagining things...i would've liked to see crestfallen too (i would've bawled though:( )

Soma, obviously. Why the fuck not, Billy? I don't get it.

As far as opening the show with Bodies or Geek USA ... I still think MCIS > Rocket was the best choice. It was the traditional SD-style Rocket too ...

Ya sure Soma could have been played ... but so could a lot of other songs. Maybe a couple Gish-era songs would have been nice (i.e. Crush, Tristessa). Hummer could have been played but I couldn't see Billy enjoying that song anymore. If they were gonna play some obscure they just should brought back to Pisces Iscariot tracks ... imagine if they played Soothe > Frail & Bedazzled ... that'd get the whole crowd going. Hell, even if they played Whir it would have been a crowd pleaser.

Although I (like most people) were expecting some old old shit like Jennifer Ever or Nothing & Everything.

Maybe it was symbolic, but, there were a lot of other songs they played at the show that you could have said the same thing about, yet they played them anyway.

As for Last Instrumental sounding like Crestfallen, that's what I heard from people after the show, but when I finally heard the mp3, I didn't see much of a similarity... but I liked it nonetheless.

True.... but too bad it was totally fucked up with Tonight, Tonight accidently being played over the P.A. Of all nights to fuck something like that up big like that, you know? I wonder if Billy beat the fuck out of the guy in charge of pressing "stop" after MCIS finished playing...

Farewell & Goodnight - I realize Darcy wasn't there, but I still think right after Silverfuck, this would've been the perfect ending... "as you can tell, it's just as well"... Maybe it's too obvious, I dunno.

Other then that:

Why did everyone want to hear soma..yeah that would have been nice..but there are so many better songs that havn't been played in a long time. Galapogos, Hummer, Whir, In the Arms of Sleep would have all been amazing.

They couldn't play every song in their history, so I'm not really disappointed.

Soma could have and should have definitely replaced one of those.

Er... you people realize that the band stopped playing Soma because Billy was unable to sing it properly anymore, right? The '99 versions were atrocious.

I'm most disappointed that they *did* play Shame. Any of the choices from this thread (Soma gets my vote) should have gone in its slot.

because billy sucks at singing live now... and even saying 'now' is tough, cuz he was never all that good at singing live. remember when he sang 'tonight tonight' at the VMA's that year? haha. it was awful.

... but i saw them a couple days later and it was fucking incredible :D...

Maybe they wanted to leave Soma be; the last time it was played was the last time the original lineup of the band performed together.

That said, I agree with "Hummer", and I think it would've been cool of them to whip out:

TOASE

for the last show.

Definatly Soma.
although, as I haven't heard the entire Metro show yet.....I was at the United Center one, and I was totally expecting them to end with Silverfuck at that show, but they didn't. Although, ending with 1979 was kinda nice too. two totally different endings right there.
