Though personally I do see how one might perceive this as making the production go a bit too over-the-top for their liking. Addendum: I actually enjoy the vibe of the "rocking" version of this song, although on some of the live recordings I've heard (and the 1994 MTV Video Music Awards performance in particular) his vocals are bordering on the atrocious.
