wow, a bunch of local bands play limited-capacity overhyped shows when you could see them much more easily some other time.

i mean, if the name is similar, why not have something at least comparable to sxsw.

I was at a restaurant where this guy from Toronto was talking about NXNE and I all could do was smile. I didn't want to tell him how much it sucks in comparison to SXSW.

oh well. i'm still gonna go see the hidden cameras (their first local show since march) and cuff the duke since they're at the same venue the same night.

don't worry, new music west is/was kind of a joke just like it, only maybe 60% that size. although it had a couple of big non-local acts doing "premiere shows." anyway if you can check out black rice, 3 inches of blood, the salteens or billie and the lost boys (well they kinda suck, but i know billie!) do so, knowing they're van-area and thrillho-approved.

i do think it stands for south/southwest and north/northeast, but i could be totally wrong.
