from an AIM conversation, since i don't feel like typing it all again:

kimaira: well i went down to hang out with jared casey and darrel
kimaira: and i figured i'd come home early
kimaira: but i stayed until 11 when casey had to go home
kimaira: and then i took jared home
kimaira: and then i started back to topeka, and i saw this light off to my left.
kimaira: in the sky. i thought it was a planet, or a satellite. but then it disappeared for a few seconds and came back.
kimaira: and i was like, what.
kimaira: so i pulled off onto a dirt road and watched it.
kimaira: and it was moving oddly.
kimaira: like, not far, but definitely moving.
kimaira: so i drove after it a bit and it didn't get closer and i watched it
kimaira: and i wasn't sure if it was my eyes or it was really moving.
kimaira: it would move back and forth a lot, sometimes up and down, sometimes it would kind of loop.
kimaira: so i was near casey's house, she lives in the rural area... so i called her and she was still up so i told her to come outside and i'd be at her house.
kimaira: then i showed her it and we watched it
kimaira: and she confirmed it was indeed moving
kimaira: we watched it for a while. it was great. it would move a lot sometimes. and then be still.
kimaira: then we called jared.
kimaira: and he came out.
kimaira: and he was like holy shit.
kimaira: after he watched it for a while. at first you don't notice.
kimaira: and then we watched it. it'd been like 45 minutes by now.
kimaira: and then we decided to chase it.
kimaira: and we drove about 10 miles and it didn't get any closer.
kimaira: but it was still moving around.
kimaira: and then we drove back to casey's and it was gone.
kimaira: and then i came home.
kimaira: sometimes it would move so fast like a small distance but. judging by planes in the sky and how very far it must have been away... it must have been moving over 500mph when it moved.

the whole episode lasted about half an hour. it was amazing.

How big was it? What color was it? What did it look like? Huh? Huh?

it looked like a bright star. it was yellow-ish. sometimes it looked like it was turning in a way that it changed the light it was giving off.
