I love Jim Carey and I dream of Jennifer Anniston.

I love Jim Carrey, mostly for his work in the Truman Show and Man on the Moon. This movie looks pretty dumb., but at the same time it looks like it could be funny, and Morgan Freeman is fucking hilarious in the trailers.

Maybe one day if I'm bored, I guess.

I would have gone if it was anyone but Jim Carrey. He overacts and takes everything way over the top. If it was Sandler instead, I'd be there.

This is exactly why he should play the role of a jackass that has all of the powers of god. I'm going to see it.

i saw the SNL that he hosted just after the Cable Guy came out a few days ago. He's really matured a lot, considering how much of an ass used to act like.

I saw it this afternoon and it was entertaining, but it wasn't anything spectacular.

Sure, I'll see it. It looks like the fun type of movie that Jim Carrey used to do and be enjoyable in.

I've heard that in the last third of the movie, it becomes this big serious drama. That sounds pretty retarded.

I guess you missed his recent Leno appearance. He couldn't stay in his chair.

The Cable Guy was by far the best movie he was in. Man on the Moon was respectable, too.

Everything else is pretty much the same physical humour type things, which I haven't found funny since I was 11. I don't at all want to see the new movie.

Oh, right. I forgot about his two failed attempts at being serious.

I haven't seen The Majestic, but I'm sure it's as bad as everybody says it is. The Truman Show, though, is by far his best movie. It's a near-masterpiece, and the ending is one of the most brutal things to get put on film in the last ten years. Given the glut of reality TV we have today, it's also uncannily prophetic.

And Man on the Moon is pretty serious, too--just because it's a biopic of a comedian doesn't mean it's not serious. It's only an okay film, but Carrey's performance is amazing. There were times I could have sworn I was watching Andy Kaufman and not Jim Carrey. As far as I'm concerned, the only performance that was up to par that year was Kevin Spacey's in American Beauty, but he didn't even get nominated for an Oscar. It still pisses me off.

I think I will pass on it until maybe when it comes out on video. I'm usually pretty good at calling movies from previews and ads and this one has suck written all over it.

I would sue the fuck out of the movie studio. They should know better.

It sucked. Not that i was expecting anything, but it did. It was barely watchable.

The problem with him is that he's so owned by Hollywood that anything he does now is so mainstream. With the exception of the Man on the Moon, all of his post Dumb and Dumber movies have just been so carefully planned and plotted that they really waste an opportunity to do great. Truman Show could've been amazing but it just stays flat and unmoving to me. I saw part of the Majestic and thought the same. eh. a good talent wasted.

The Matrix had a 50% drop in business this week and meanwhile Bruce Almighty cleaned the fuck up. Matrix is still next to Spider-Man to be one of the fastest to reach 200mil. But in had an even bigger drop than Attack of the Clones did last summer.

Basically everyone going out to see it says that moviegoers punish Carrey when he tries to strech and love him in outlandish physical comedy. If you think about it, since its been so long that he's done this style of film, it was almost like a comeback movie and the audience was there in droves. It'll drop next weekend, for sure, but I get the feeling its gonna consistently rake in cash.
