Why is it so sad? She was old anyway and her best music days have long since been behind her. We should mourn artists when they pass their primes and no longer have creative ingenuity, guys like Billy Corgan and U2 and Johnny Cash.

Yes, but Nina Simone dying at least evokes a certain amount of feeling for me whereas musicians like the above who are past their primes just make me go :rolleyes:.

Anyway, it's kind of fortunate for Nina that she finally died. She was in quite a bad way, so while it's obviously sad that she's gone, I can't imagine it being too bad for her.
