jesus christ what is wrong with some of you? I only posted about 8 discs, one of them I got for free, the others I got for fairly cheap, it isn't as if I blew a whole week's pay on them. really, it doesn't all cost much if you know where to buy

because i didn't own them but now i do and I FEEL GREAT!

i need some more beatles records. i only have help! (it's an original 1965 UK release though, is that leet enuff4u?), sgt. pepper's and that number ones compilation. so i need more. and i just don't have pet sounds yet. what the fuck is wrong with me?

Yeah, I'm still in the process of putting a Beatles collection together. I started focusing on their latest releases, from "Rubber Soul" to "Let It Be". I'm also getting the 3 Anthology double CDs.
You can't get enough from this band, nor you can't get enough from Brian Wilson's stuff.

One suggestion on Pet Sounds: get the box - it's cooler and will get you some extra nice stuff like the stack-o-vocals tracks. Not to mention the nice booklet featuring the album's history.

glenn, you'd like the little wings disc, very stripped back, quirky acoustic fiddlings. try download some, it is a little like the microphones, just not so atmospheric

Seriously, though, it depends on where your money goes. If CDs come first for you, and you have a job, there should be no problem getting a lot of them. When people bitch about not having money to buy CDs, what they mean is that they don't have enough money to buy all the cosmetics they want, go out to dinner three times a week, get drunk on weekends, make payments on a car that's way out of their range of affordability, pay off their credit card debts that they ran up when they were in college, and buy CDs. Mind you, I do think CDs are FAR too expensive, but if you have any kind of independence and, let's face it, enough money to own a computer and operational internet, you should be able to get a fairly substantial percentage of what you immediately want. And even if you don't have a job or really can't afford them for some reason, it's weird to bitch about other people buying that much. At least it seems to be. When people spend a lot of their hard-earned money on something like music, it shows a certain amount of dedication, at the very least, and there's nothing wrong with that.

you don't have anything nice to look at in your room though, and 20gb full of mp3s is not an investment

i wouldn't want to be elliot smith's sister right now anyway, he's in bad shape. he's looking like neil young's grandfather these days

What do you think of that one? I like it, but it's definately not near as good as musicforthemorningafter.

He's a really good songwriter. Very solid.
