i have no interest in seeing them live cuz billy can't sing anymore... not that he was ever all that incredible live.

Actually, Billy's voice has improved tremdously. And I'm not someone who is "blinded by teh l0ve of b0lly" and has always thought he could sing. I heard the Adore shows... I know what he sounded like. But I was highly impressed by him tonight. Besides, if you have no desire to see them live then how do you know he can't sing anymore?

To your second point... I did buy a QOtSA album and I've seen them live... And all I can say is "meh". Not the most thrilling band in the world to me. They're definitely not bad and i can see why people like them, but I personally don't feel that they are making waves. BUT, they are better than most of the other shite that's popular these days. And oh there is so much shite in the world of music.

And incidentally... Not that it's important, but I've probably been in this community as long if not much longer than you. I just haven't been to Netphoria in ages... I thought it would be nice to come on here and share my positive Zwan experience from tonight without having to sift through any "ilovej00 b0lly" posts. But now I remember why I prefer AMSP to this place. Not that everyone here is bad, but the occasional dill-hole like you makes me cry for humanity.

This thread is stupid anyway. Nobody needs to explain to you why they like anything, and nobody actually cares whether or not you like Zwan. You're obviously just being antagonistic and are not simply looking for an honest, clear answer to your question, so this post doesn't really merit a response either way.

Like, so what if we would not have heard Zwan if it weren't Billy's band? As fans of his, it is to be expected that we'd follow his side-projects more closely than those of some other band's ex-singer. So yeah you're right, I first got interested in Zwan because I knew Billy was in it - because Billy tends to write songs that I like, and it so happens that he's continued to do so with Zwan. I don't quite see what's wrong with this.

Whatever, I mean you can think what you want about the album and the songs you've heard. That's fine. But as I implied in my original response, it's pretty hard not to appreciate the way Zwan plays live. Billy's voice was never the main attraction at any of his concerts anyway.

And Lyric is my second favourite song on the album. :p

You cant speak towards other peoples passion man. You dont dig the music, thats fine, others do, they think it's worth a listen. If you saw them live you might see the passion you think he lacks.

I don't listen to Zwan's cd very much now, but I saw them live and I have to say it seems like that is where their true power lies, as a live band.

I can't stop listening to my two QOTSA cd's though, I saw them in October and it was a scarily awesome show. I need to buy Rated R as soon as possible if it's as good as the first and latest albums, which I have no doubt about.

I find the new Billy really intriguing ... although he's DEFINETLY not like he used to be. I think he's happy now (Prob bc he's fucking Paz nightly) and it shows in the music. I like Zwan, but not everyone does. Zwan and SP are totally different.

No. You're a dillhole because you selectively respond and because you have anger management issues. You know it is possible to disagree with others without having to resort to obscenities and personal attacks. Don't get me wrong. I'm just as obscene as the next person, but there's a time a place for everything. Of course, then it could be argued that that time and place is Netphoria, but ya know...

anyways Zwan has not really "wow" me yet. But I only saw the 1st 4 shows. I have heard they have improved. I have 3 shows i am going see; lets hope my investment works out

What's so great about Zwan? They're my band. They're doing something I think is cool, that I can hang onto, and that not a lot of people (aside from, apparently, those on the board) really care a lot about. It's like liking nirvana before they broke big, only we already had our 1993, and we don't care if another one comes around. It's like reading a book over and over that no one likes but you. It's a little different, but still the same, and I think it's still got some sonic impact, barring the production, which i don't like. It's complicated, but terribly simple - I like their harmonies. I like thier style.

You're asking "what's so great about Zwan," but what it seems like you're really asking is "why don't I like Zwan?" We can't tell you that, but the rest of us know what we like, and we like Zwan.
