there's one right around the corner from me. It's so awful when I'm walking to Eckerd's late at night or whatever and there's these men in their minivans and business suits walking through the doors. One time I put up that "Everytime you masturbate, God Kills a Kitten" picture on the door. They took it down the next day though. My friend tried to get me to go into it but I'd be scarred for life I'm sure. yick.

this made me wonder: what is proper porn-store etiquette? Do you make eye contact with your fellow shoppers? what if you're looking for something and you come upon it but someone else is in that section? do you just move along or stand beside them looking for it? do they have...like...ummm workers helping people find things? oh man how awful would that be. what if you meet someone you know there?!!? that would be so embarrasing. dude.

I recently discovered a porn store in Georgetown...which is the last place I would expect to find one in DC...the Georgetown area seems far too proper of a place for such a thing. I didn't actually go inside it, though.

I like not getting carded when I buy alcohol. SO far, whenever i've actually gone into the bar, only twice hve i been carded. Both times by women. weird.

i was 18 and he was 17 and we didn't get ID'd.

This couple then comes in...they looked about in their mid to late 20's and they got ID'd.

I always wonder what's up with signs in front of porn stores that say "couples welcome." I mean, why wouldn't couples be welcome? Is it a discreet way of saying "we're not just a scummy little place where creepy old men hang out"?

the first place we went was goldies. which is the big porn store in town. they card everyone when you go in because you have to go through that little metal thing that goes around and you cant go in unless you ID. once you're in though, it was just like a store. we picked stuff up and poked things. there were other people there and we browsed along with them. then some lady came and asked us if we were looking for anything in particular and we said no just looking around and she said "BUY SOMETHING" and walked away.

the second place was shady. the guy didnt even look up from his magazine when we walked in and we were the only people there and they didnt have as much stuff but the porn titles were hilarious.

there is a fairly large one by my house...mostly videos... they have lots of bettie page stuff. yep. when i was doing that whole... slightly odd relationship thing, we'd go in there a lot... now i go to this one in NYC, it's kinda fetishy but i like it a whole lot. when i go though, i bring a backpack cause i'd hate to walk out of that store with a bag... i'm still shy about that kinda stuff.
