Went to Vanessa's cousin's graduation party last night. It was dry. I almost broke down in tears and curled into a ball in the driveway when I checked out the cooler situation.

So I drank canned Brisk iced teas all evening. I too wish I were drinking Hendricks or Hendrick's.

I ended up accidentally drinking a fuckton of rebel yell. Lol

Last week we purchased letherbee gin with some fancy tonic and man. That shit is amazing. I dunno how wide their distribution is but if you can find it get it. Better than Hendricks. Which I also love. Mmmmm gin.

I'm doing a weekend away w my lady and she brought this bottle of champagne that we have been saving for a couple years. She had like two sips and I had about a glass and a half and the rest went to waste. How wasteful! We are not really drinkers

Had our housewarming this weekend, I drank rum dr pepper and lime (My housemate found a store with 1L Dr Pepper which is rare as hens teeth down under) and last night I played at a friends birthday and spent my bar cards on scotch and dry. i was 16 and after maybe 30 case of drunkeness in 2 years decided drinking was no fun. horrible hangovers and sad drunkeness which didn't help me socially. Never looked back. last time i was nearing tipsy i panicked though.

new favorite tequila: Espolon. I don't know how I had never tried this before, I guess it's not a liquor store standard. The plants are grown at a higher altitude and this gives the tequila a bright, fresh taste and smell like fruit.

my recommended super simple recipe for the best Tommy's Margarita:

– 2 oz. Espolon reposado
– 1 oz. freshly squeezed lime juice
– 1.5 oz. agave syrup (must be light colored nectar, not dark)
– a pinch of salt in the drink
~ 1 oz. crushed ice

alternatively, if you are a fancy pants, chill the tequila first, forget the ice, cut to .75 oz of lime juice and 1 oz. nectar and put that shit in a cocktail shaker

You don't need to chill it first if you're shaking it properly. Unless there's something special about this tequila.

I live in MD so not too far from the original brewery, and Yuengling has always been cheaper than bud. I didn't realize there was anywhere that it was more expensive. Yuengling is a weird thing. I've heard people talk about driving across Indiana from Chicago to get a case of Yuengling :think:

Not sure how other lagers have changed in the market, but I think it used to taste less than the competition, which is now more like water than ever before. So vs its current competition, it's got more flavor than they do. They also started testing the waters of more seasonal brews, which are pretty meh.

It's a lager beer. Lagered beers are for people who want sweetness and not much flavor. Amongst lagers, it's up there for me because it tastes like cornbread it's so savory. But if you drink it from a bottle, it's going to taste like crap. Green glass is the worst. I don't drink it unless it's from a fresh keg, which it mostly is around here because so many yinzers go through it.

Interesting. Yuengling bottles have always looked like that here except they are always green and they don't have the big flashy PREMIUM thing across them. It's the same old-timey logo as forever, probably since the beginning of the brewery. The taste has definitely not changed, at least in the time since I have been a beer drinker. I also don't really get the hate though. I always consider this a "good" bad beer as opposed to a "bad" bad beer, which would be Bud, Coors, Amstel, etc. the main downside for me is the gas I experience if I drink too many yuenglings.
