Time for Corgan to bury the hatchet already.

Corgan HAS NO BAND right now. Is anyone seriously going to pay money to see Corgan live with yet another new 3rd-rate line up of musicians who are likely going to be of the caliber of Byrne and Nicole on this next tour? I know I'm not.

These new Corgan "SP" lineups are getting Spinal Tap-Esque.

Just get the old band back together for fucks sake Billy.

I didn't even know Kiss was a real band that made real, meaningful music. I thought it was just some bullshit generic metal thing with stupid makeup

But yeah get your shit together billy and bring back JC, James and D'arcy. I don't care how much you hate them

What is it with folks who seem to think all it takes is BILLY wanting back former band members?

Surely JC, Iha, and D'arcy have just been waiting for 15 years that the grandmaster calls them, no opinion themselves, no reason at all they did't want to reform the last time or left in the first place, no life, just stage gear waiting to be used. ffs.

I don't think anyone thinks that's how it works except fuzzy and he likes Kiss....

the difference is Gene knows how to make the big $$$$$ roll in. I'm sure james/Darcy/jimmy would be back on board for under 60 days of work if billy promised them big $$$$$, but he can't. billy is happier paying McDonald salaries to no-bodies.

Besides this fact, which yeah, is a fact:

I'd at this point, rather BC go it alone for a few years, solo acoustic style, "WPC" style, or whatever he called the guy who played at the Ravinia show. Give him some time to remember how great these songs are, and connect that back to the original folks.

That's completely true.

It's just the idea that's Billy was an asshole which led to their departure, somehow means that it's up to him to get them back.

But yeah I'm sure they don't want to come back at this point

F.Delacroix

they will never come back and even if they did, it's not like the "chemistry" would just kick in and they'd start making amazing music suddenly

any scenario is a failure

i'd rather have the band in its current form than OG members grudglingly reforming every five years to cash the check on an oldies tour

Ya, I don't get this thread at all.

Also Gene is a really good marketer, knows a lot abouy branding and really adores his fans. Such a different band.

Gene wouldn't cry that he doesn't have enough fans, he would make it work. I'm not really a fan of Kiss but their concerts are really fun.

I'm sure they don't have their hopes up or anything, But if Bill came to em all with a lucrative contract for a reunion tour I'm sure they'd all be on board.

No shit man. But the original band did reunite for about 3 years in the late 90's to make an album and enjoy huge success to sell outs every night in huge Baseball stadiums. The drummer stayed in the band for a bit longer.

Comparing SP's situation to Kiss is a bit of a stretch.

Not really. In the early 90's kiss was on life support with a new line-up playing to a 3rd of an arena every night with lukewarm reviews on their new music so they decided fuck it, let's get the real deal back.

Despite popular belief Gene and Paul don't really get along all too well and Kriss And Frehely both hated Gene and Paul and the feeling was mutual but they worked shit out.

Theres actually a lot of similar parallels between Kiss when they reformed and current day SP.

That would be cool, I'd also enjoy this. But I hardly think Corgans going to decide to play small club gigs for the rest of his career. Cause let's face it, touring as a solo acoustic act isn't going to get him in any venues like the Ravinia outside of Chicago.

With the money they'd net for doing a 2 year reunion package I'm sure they'd all be more than happy to partake

everyone bashing kiss has clearly never listened to kiss. if you can't see or appreciate what they did or what influence they spread on rock and roll you're just dead.

I went to that Halloween show in '98 at Dodger Stadium. Last show for Aronoff. I was in line getting a Dodger dog when SP went on...dressed as the Beatles. I didn't know it was them for half the song. Best thing about Kiss was Ace Frehley...classic old school player, played great all night. 50,000 or so...most in costumes.

not a typical SP experience, but most memorable.
