Has been quite interesting. We've got:

--BC posting updates, as per usual.
--JC posting more and interacting with fans via Twitter more often....adding SP to his bio and following SP/BC.
--D'arcy's piqued interest in BC, fan interaction.
--James is working in the studio with Scott Weiland.

This is the most news we've heard about all of the original members in one week in quite a while...must have been the full moon.

What JC is up to and the D'arcy thing is the most interesting.

...and Billy said this in the alternativenation interview >>>

How is your relationship with Jimmy Chamberlin these days, and do you see yourself playing with him in some capacity in the future?

My relationship with Jimmy is great, we talk here and there. As far as playing together, I donít know, I think weíre kind of happy to not have that be part of the equation of our relationship at this point. In essence, we can have a relationship without the stress of the band, or a musical relationship on top of it sort of altering the dynamic. I know heís in a great place, heís been out lately with this company heís working with, I know heís very excited about that. Heís such a smart guy, most people donít realize how brilliant Jimmy is as not only a musician, but as a person. So I donít know, Iím so much in the moment. I get the gist of those questions, and the general interest in those types of questions, but right now Iím just so focused on getting the new album out, and how to tour it and all of that.

It's nice that they've all moved on and are being civil, but the chances of any of them reuniting are practically nonexistent.

Lol it's true though. I remember everyone here was appalled by how bad Byrne sucked and how shitty the new lineup was and there was Scotty always sincerely raving about how awesome they were.

Most people are relieved that Billy kicked em to the curb but it makes sense that Scottys all butt-hurt.

No one should have to apologize for their opinion. Trying to discern how much actual influence each band member has in the Smashing Pumpkins has been a debate for decades now. The band initially puts up a front that each band member has more influence than they actually do and then once he or she leaves it turns out that they did not have as much influence on the music as fans were lead to believe.

It truly does not matter. Smashing Pumpkins always has been and always will be, Billy Corgan's machine - and that is fine because he has made music that we have all loved at some point. The issue becomes what type of musician will be drawn to the Pumpkins? Many very talented musicians will want more creative control or influence on the music they are creating and if Billy stands in the way of that they will either be dissuaded from joining the band at all or will leave after a while. So what are we left with? Young, up and coming musicians who were fans of the band or musicians who do not have a problem taking orders from Billy. We have seen this time and time again and it has always been the case with the Smashing Pumpkins...so any of the lineup changes have never truly surprised me.
