REM? I think you'll find CW will say something like the Chameleons or Echo and the Bunnymen

Nah he'll find it funny that The Edge wears sunglasses while Slash also wears sunglasses but they have different styles of playing

I haven't liked anything U2 did since Unforgettable Fire. Probably won't lIke this one either.

It has a 2.47 out of 5 stars on rateyourmusic which is pretty awful.

yeah, i was just thinking of the post-punk influence on the first couple albums of each band respectively before devolving into uter shit. i gave CW too much credit - this wasn't covered by his 'best post-punk bands of all-time' google search.

to be fair, a band like this still producing music can have just one or two good songs on a new release and that would mean they haven't completely lost it (a la Rush).

on a related note I just heard some teases of Robert Plants new album and that sounded pretty interesting, what little I heard.

utter shit??? pulleeze...look, Bono is a wanker and all, but sans Rattle and Hum, their musical trajectory through Zooropa is pretty epic.

The first 2 tracks are garbage. Stopped listening after that. The second song Every Breaking Wave sounds like a corny 80s pop rock song.

You've posted a lot of outlandish bullshit on this board in your time but this might just take the cake.

Every Breaking Wave sounds like a corny 80s pop rock song.

So you mean it's a U2 Song? by U2?

the only thing you got right there is the leftist thing.

and the 2nd half of Joshua Tree is the essence of alternative music. that, and REM's Murmer.
