I'm sure this has been discussed, but a search turned up nothing.

What the hell is up with the remix/remaster Glynis from the PI reissue? It sounds like complete ass now. That was always one of my top five Pumpkins tunes. I have none of the new reissues. Is this a common thing on them, completely changing and fucking up the song? I'm sure they're all brickwalled, but not this, please.

Plume had a different vocal take. This was on the album disc, not a bonus disc goodie.

I really only have the reissues for the bonus disc goodies anyway. If I'm going to listen to some Pumpkins, I play the original discs.

I don't understand the need for that type of shit. Usually on reissues, if they want to do a remix, they have it as an extra track. He's George Lucasing his back catalog.

I'm not too sure if it was intentional.

There was also a glitch in one of the PI songs, I forget which one. It was also present in the high resolution digital download version. After a lot of complaints were received, it was taken down and replaced with a glitch free, but slightly less high res version.

It had to be intentional. You don't need to remix in order to remaster. That's just very odd. That's right up there with...

If I can continue with this train of "If I recall correctly" posts...

When Billy was working on the Gish and SD reissues, he made a couple of status update posts about trying to figure out which of the many mixes they'd made back in the day was the final mix that went to mastering. I guess they weren't well organised or labelled because he had to listen to them all one by one.

I definitely miss his loud as hell falsetto marvin gaye thing in the outro.

what about apathy's last kiss? i'm annoyed they made the awesome flangey bit less awesome and flangey.

No, it was intentional. He specifically mentioned the alternate ending. He either tweeted about it or it made the liner notes.

I don't like it as much but we still have the original. No reason to be upset.

I was referring to Plume, not Glynis.

The new Glynis is by far my preferred version. Highlights the dark joy of the song, rather than the gothic dread.

I think the switch was with "Plume." They got a ton of complaints about how it was a different version on the album disc, so they just took the version from the original Pisces Iscariot and jacked up the volume a little.

I know there were some big issues with audio glitches on the bonus disc (which was brick walled to hell to begin with), but I think one or two may have ended up on the main disc as well. My memory might be wrong, but I want to say there was a glitch on "Pissant." Like someone else said, if I want to listen to the actual albums, I play the original versions.

Also, as someone else mentioned, the alternate "Glynis" mix was definitely intentional. I do not feel like going back to Billy's tweets in 2012, but he said he always found the original mix very odd.

The best part was Monte coming in and talking about how he would pass along all the complaints and then absolutely nothing happened.

The live acoustic version is the only good version.

This is the only version I'll listen to.

For a professional space killer Greedo turned out to be pretty terrible shot.

While I love the original version of Glynis, the mix was always shit. It was very muffled and overly bassy and the volume was way too low. I love the remixed version mainly because it cleans and brightens up the mix a lot. The new ending took some getting used to, especially because it kind of puts a humors spin on what has been a pretty heavy, serious song, but then I realized there are people dying of cancer or on welfare and then I got over it.
