I was recently at some party and heard this song from the Used. I thought it was actually pretty cool, and you can definitely hear the big Pumpkins influence. It got me thinking and the Pumpkins biggest legacy is probably for inspiring the sound for that whole shitty "emo" movement. Even so the odd song by these lame bands can be kinda cool.

Do you guys know of any shitty emo SP rip off bands who actually have a cool song or 2?

I'll get the ball rolling. Fall out Boy is a shit band, But I've always had a real sweet spot for this track

I just love the fucking chorus man... How it breaks into it, the little lead guitar part that goes on during the end of the chorus... The chorus makes the whole song for me. The groovy little picking guitar part going on through the pre chorus is pretty cool too. Just a solid track from a shitty emo band.

Flame away, motherfuckers!

While that Used song IS pretty fucking cheesy(still found it cooler than what I expected the band to sound like), I still gotta honestly admit that that Fall out Boy song is pretty damn good.

That's true. that mid 2000 kinda sound and image was pretty much dubbed emo from the mainstream culture. Even though emo was considered something entirely different beforehand.

haven't heard any of the tracks you posted before, I'm gonna check em out. Listening to the first one right now, sounds sweet:smoke:

Yeah At The Drive In was an emo band. I remember back in college when they were big. Their video / song One Armed Scissor was getting a lot of airplay.

The Used owe most of their success to an awesome emo / hardcore band by the name of Glassjaw.
