RG3 really?

the rodgers rumors seem pretty solid. that would be awesome. i've always liked him but i'd like him even more if he were an open gay. he's pretty dreamy. in a weird, backwoods sorta way.

I dunno, if I gave any answer to that question it'd basically mean I'm assuming and admitting I subscribe to the notion that there is a stereotypical "gay male" that someone resembles. I guess probably because RG3 is really smart and sensitive. And he has pretty eyes.

it is, but if they never score in fifteen minutes of gametime then it results in a hilarious tie

Bread Regal
02-10-2014, 12:06 AM
in round robin tournaments, such as the epl, draws are indeed commonplace. in knockout tournaments, it goes into two 15 minute overtimes, a penalty shootout and if still no winner is declared, sudden death.

it seemed inconceivable to me that if a sport has a period that is called "sudden death" then they play until a winner is declared.

how is it done in the playoffs, hot shot?

Bread Regal
02-10-2014, 12:06 AM
what im trying to say is that the words "sudden death" imply something completely different than what the nfl does.

Trotskilicious
02-10-2014, 12:09 AM
also nfl overtime is not sudden death anymore

Trotskilicious
02-10-2014, 12:10 AM
and why are you mad at me, i'm just telling you how it works

in the playoffs they play until someone scores

nfl ot is no longer sudden death, the other team gets to get a crack at possession after a score. so it rewards going for a touchdown instead of winning the coin toss and getting a FG

i guess with the lack of sudden death we may have a playoff ot game taht goes on for hours and hours

rule 4: if the ball goes out on the sides, it is a turnover and you get to throw it in
rule 5: if the ball goes out the back, if its on the attack then it is a turnover and goal kick. if it is on the defender then a spot kick will be taken at the corner by the attack
rule 6: 11 men including the goalkeeper per side
rule 7: goalkeeper can use hands
rule 8: visitor will kick off to start game, home will kick off to start second half (or the other way around)
rule 9: seriously don't be a dick

you mean the locker room culture of richie incognito yeah it would be pretty hard to deal with a gay dude swaggin all over the place "I AM AN OPENLY PROUD GAY MAN"

The Omega Concern
02-20-2014, 09:47 PM
this will have the typical athletic Talent/Tolerant level among teammates. Doesn't matter really what a guy does, if he can help you win, you'll tolerate lots of shit, even a gay man in the locker room if the man can play.

He should be careful of Tebowing himself however. If he becomes too much of a leader of some social cause, then coaches and owners have to deal with how one player is taking focus from the team. Tebow is plenty good enough to be someones backup somewhere in the NFL, but it comes with 30,000 devotees screaming for him to start. Tebow embraced all that and it kinda backfired on him.

but if Sam can ball out like Patrick Willis or something, he'll be fine with whatever off-field stuff.

However, with success, he has a moral resposibility to carry the flag and be pro active politically. It a tight rope to walk...cue janelle monae

The other thing i wonder is that collins came out because he knew his career was over. He got lots of kudos even from superstars like bronbron and ol steve nash. Are nfl players voicing their support of gay jackie robinson?

Eulogy
02-21-2014, 07:02 AM
he has already made a point of saying that he is not going to do pride parades or really be any sort of advocate for the time being. his being gay and being decent at football is more important than all that anyway. and it's dumb but it's probably a good idea to insulate yourself from the "omg distraction" bullshit. which coming out so far ahead of the draft seems to have done. no one really cares anymore. and when he goes in the 6th round i honestly don't think it will be that noteworthy.

I mean as hard as predicting drafts go, I dunno about that. Clearly he's an excellent defensive player, but does he fit into the needs and scheme of the first 20 picks? Just as a player, where should he go? I didn't see him play so I don't have any clue. If he's as good as his stats and awards, then he might be a first or second round pick. I'm 100% certain that calls will be made to draft him no matter what. He won't go undrafted. It'd be a colossal mistake if Goodell didn't find a way to pull strings and make sure of it.

Not sure who would get him, but if he falls out to the last two rounds, he'd be a hell of a valuable draft at that spot.

NFL to penalize use of racial slur

http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/10500657/nfl-expected-penalize-players-using-racial-slurs-games

The head of the Fritz Pollard Alliance, which monitors diversity in the NFL, expects the league to institute a rule where players would be penalized 15 yards for using the N-word on the field.

Fritz Pollard Diversity group which monitors the NFL eh? So, hack liberal sociologist bent on making the world right in their eyes.

If this Utopian ideal wasn't ridiculous enough, there's this:

Ozzie Newsome also said the committee talked about other slurs coming under any possible new rule, including homophobic slurs.

Wooten, who previously has urged all players to stop using the N-word, thinks the NFL will rule an automatic 15-yard penalty for first-time offenders and an ejection for second infractions.

"I will be totally shocked if the competition committee does not uphold us on what we're trying to do," Wooten said, according to CBSSports.com. "We want this word to be policed from the parking lot to the equipment room to the locker room.

Because Liberal Utopians are never happy with getting what they want, they always need more. 15 yards on the field doesn't cut it, policing it from the "parking lot to the equipment room to the locker room" is their goal. You think these Liberal yahoo's want these types of rules only in the NFL, lol, think again.

Goodell's doing a decent job of making this sport extinct in a generation or two.

TOC to thread.

Here's my conspiracy theory:

Roger Goodell (or an agent operating under his direction) made a phone call to Dan and Art Rooney.

The proposal was asking what it would take to guarantee a draft pick for Michael Sam, who deserves a pick anyway, but risks not getting one. He might get picked. He probably will. But he might not - a scenario the NFL can't afford to chance.

The Steelers have been battling salary cap woes for two seasons, and are in a position to make a decent run in the playoffs. With just a tiny bit more cap space than anticipated, they could hold on to their veteran players to milk one more season out of them before they're put out to pasture. Their vets are vital to their chances of a ring this season.

In exchange for a guaranteed pick, the cap gets a larger-than-anticipated boost.

If he winds up a Steeler, no organization would handle it better.

The Steelers were peaky after game 4 when guys were playing for their jobs. I think this season should have a much better start. The Steelers offense was great the last half of the season. Unfortunately it took half a season for them to learn how to play. Adding Munchak is huge.

They'll be a decent team this year. I hope. If they fix the defense they'll be in good shape.

Safety has been such a gaping hole on our defense since we let Dawkins walk. Signing both would be nice but that will be way too much money going to the safety position.

Ideally I'd like them to sign Byrd and have him be our FS then have Earl Wolff start at SS. Then go OLB or CB in the first round.

My only complaint is seeing all those pussies crying because years of harder work than I'll ever know finally paid off for a lot of people who struggled with poverty their entire lives. Bunch of fucking Nanceys. This is how a real man gets drafted:

this motherfucker's name over here is HaHa Clinton-Dix? Are you fucking serious.

I was really hoping he would go to Dallas so I could hear people say his name all the time.

I was also sort of hoping for Manziel to go to Dallas, because it would be the most Jerry move Jerry could have made. I'm sad that clusterfuck didn't happen.

"I was sitting and waiting to go in and meet with (general manager Howie Roseman) and all the front office guys, and coach Kelly was driving around a little remote control car," defensive tackle Beau Allen, a seventh-round pick, told Philadelphia Magazine. "They use it out on the field because they can't do motions, and he drove it right into me and was like, 'Oh, hey Beau, how are you doing?' And I was like, 'Hey, coach.'"

So does the Kaeperbro kontract mean the 9ers don't have all that much confidence in him? Or they think he'll definitely get hurt?

IMO this is partly because Flacco got a ridiculous contract, and had a complete turdbox a season.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/06/05/the-full-kaepernick-contract-details/

Trotskilicious
06-06-2014, 11:22 AM
yeah that contract practically convinces me that kaperbro is destined to be shit in a couple years. you know kind of like the detrius that came before him, huge media impact, started off hot, and then by year 4 or 5 he's throwing picks all the time, his QBR is low and he's just kind of dogshit. He looks like the kind of guy to blame others for that.

duovamp
06-06-2014, 12:09 PM
And it forces him to run so he can win games and look good. Which raises the likelihood he'll get injured.

So I don't know if his agent is incompetent or he's just really dumb, but he's basically playing for like Cutler-level money. Only except Cutler will make way more, trolololol.

great job by the 49ers, obviously they have a healthy skepticism about this dingleberry too.

he really just has that wafting odor of a flash in the pan, you feel me?

I'm no Stephen Hawking but I'm pretty sure at 115 mil for 6 years, Andy fucking Dalton is going to make more than Kaeperbro. ANDY. BUNGLE. 0-yard PICK SIX. FUCKING. GINGER. DALTON.

Bless you, Flacco, for completely breaking QB contract pay.

I'll give you cunt face, but Dalton's a classic stand and deliver QB who sucks at delivering.

Actually I'd take my chances with a draft pick over the ginger.

Steelers looked pretty shit last night. Not good at all. Gonna be even sweeter with no Blount and Bell to start the season. Sucks too because I was considering getting a Bell jersey... Last Steeler jersey I bought was fucking Mile Wallace's. FML.

Even more troubling, the Eagles might be a hell of a team this year. Gross.
