Training camp is underway. Glad to have a full, real season to look forward to.

Who is your team and who do you predict? The Lightning continue their rebuild on the fly and will fight for a 7-8 playoff spot. It will all depend on whether one of our massive goalies steps up.

Is Vokoun back for this year? Granted last year was wonky because of the schedule but something seemed really off with the Pens in the playoffs last year.

Yeah. And I'll admit openly I haven't followed things closely enough to point at a subtle hint he'll start. But I don't see any reason why the guy with the bigger paycheck won't start and do just fine in the reg. Vokoun signed a 2 year deal in 2012.

Big Joe was hilarious though last week sticking up for Hertl.

.........................

Joe Thornton would unzip his pants if he scored four goals

Hearing a question to Marleau about Hertl and whether he was showboating, Thornton said:

“Shut up, have you ever played the game?”

When the press turned his way, he then added:

“I’d have my cock out if I scored four goals. I’d have my cock out, stroking it.”

Thanks LBBM. I'm surprised at how bad I felt just watching him writhe around on the ice and not just because of what it means for my Bolts. I guess it's only natural to get a bit attached to these dudes and Stamkos is definitely one of the most liked and well respected good guys in the league.

As much as it sucks, the Lightning were playing good team hockey before he went down and have been playing the same since. If we can manage to float along and keep ourselves in a playoff position we'll get a helluva boost when he comes back.

As for the Bs, glad we only play you guys once more this year. We have played lights out hockey against everyone else but Boston has our kryptonite.

I don't know what the fuck the Canadians were thinking leaving Marty St. Louis off the roster. Dude is instant chemistry with anyone- let alone other stars. Look how he's pushed Johnson and Palat on the Lightning's first line and is piling up the points even without Stamkos. How many big, clutch goals has Rick Nash scored in his career? I hope the Canadians crash and burn even with Stamkos on the roster.

Honestly, any non-boxing/MMA sport would be up in arms over one single punch. It'd be insanity if a man punched another man in the face on the football field or tennis court. But in hockey it's like "Let 'em fight it out... fight it out... waiiiit... okay, break it up boys." 5 minutes later, back in the game.

Something should be happening soon with it though, but it'd have to be standardized across all leagues, which could be tough. I thought I heard the proposal the NHL could say any time you initiate a fight you get suspended for 3 games and a fine or something like that.

It hurts, but the Rags can have him. He was our Captain, supposed to be the leader of the squad, and he gave up on the guys in the room. It has been clear since the olympic break that something has been wrong with the team. Marty will go into the HOF as a Bolt, and my anger will fade, but for now he can eat a big bag of dicks and enjoy mediocrity in NY.

Meanwhile, Yzerman managed a deal (even handcuffed) that will help us for the next 10 years. 2015 is supposed to be a banner draft year and another high pick doesn't hurt. Fuck- with how the Rangers are a perennial meddling graveyard for aging stars, that pick is one Lundqvist injury away from being a lottery pick. In addition, if the Rags catch fire this year we get a first next year as well (2nd in 2014, 1st if they reach ECF). I figure Cally is only rental unless he lowers his contract wishes but he's a useful player and adds an edge to the team that has been missing.

Honestly the biggest acquisition of the deadline is the Bolts activating some blond kid to the roster- supposed to start tomorrow. What's his name again? Oh yeah, Steven Fucking Stamkos. Suck a fat dick Marty. I hope he gets blown up tonight against TOR. I hope Phaneuf catches him across the middle of the ice with his head down and lights him up. The future is bright in Tampa and if he was serious about another cup he had a much better chance in Tampa then he'll ever have in NY.

Ol' Couch Ass
03-05-2014, 05:02 PM
I reiterate, suck my white ass Marty St. Louis. You sold out the franchise that gave you a chance and the fans that supported you and made you wealthier than you could ever imagine. I'm not going to argue that the Lightning haven't played like shit behind an AHL goalie, but we still got screwed last night. The no goal last night could've completely changed the complexion of the series. The officiating the whole series has been terrible. Further, Habs fans are completely insufferable and I hope they get crushed next round.

that's likely what will happen. Everyone is surprised when the habs makes it past the first round. Even Habs fans.

But keep in mind fans of the team that's playing against the one we like always seem like insufferable asses.....

IMO Ducks fans are the absolute worst. I could go on and on about which cities ought to have professional Hockey and how it ought to be part of the regional culture and shit like that. But seriously, why is there even a hockey team in that town? It's nothing but the NHL looking at the greater LA market and trying to get more share of the sports business there. Nevermind that what you get out of it is a piss poor excuse for a fan base.

Probably the reason people here don't fight each other instead is because they'd go down in a punch.

Philly is a fairly dangerous city if you go to the wrong places (I have a bit of experience with it because I've been there a lot in the past few years), Montreal is dangerous nowhere. And we don't really have belligerent a-holes so much. I kinda don't get the riots to be honest. There's nothing in mtl that would indicate such things would happen on a regular day. Hasn't happened yet! Ever.

what is, though, is that the rangers have lost 12 games in a row where they've had a series lead, and also haven't won a series in less than seven games since 2008.

not to antagonize anyone but when i read today that the rangers won after being down 3-1...i remembered people in this thread saying the two things therein outlined above

so have they still technically lost 12 in a row with a series lead because i think they do

13 now. they won game 1, then lost 2, 3, and 4.

they didn't have a series lead in games 3 and 4, though. or 5 or 6 for that matter. just going into game 2.

ultimately that stat is meaningless because you won the series from being down 3-1 and it's still active

i would be pretty happy with the rangers 7-2 win, but all the habs fans at work assured me that lundqvist can't play at the bell centre, and the rangers are no match for montreal's speed and transition game.

habs in five.
