I have a feeling that having a shitty childhood is why most people (sans Siamese Dream / MCIS) are or have been fans of the Smashing Pumpkins. His pain resonated in his music.

Also, Mike doesn't practice the drums. Takes after his old man, I suppose.

I don't know anyone personally who had a great childhood. My mom and I were talking about it one time and she said "I know our lives were far from leave it to beaver". I said "No, it was a lot like that scene in goodfellas where the Irish father takes off his belt and beats the shit out of Henry".
