Left work at 4am, hit up the 24 hour subway.

"Good evening .. I mean, good morning! Having a hard time adjusting, you know."
"Oh, no worries. I just got off work myself."
"Where do you work?"
"Just up the street at the hotel."

She then goes on to describe her relationship with the owner of the hotel next door to the one I work at, she's the owner's niece. Furthermore, she mentions that where I work is up for sale - not just where I work but the entire chain.

After getting my sandwich I get to my car, Google it and sure enough the entire chain is up for sale. For twenty-three million. The property I work at going for ten million six-hundred sixty-seven thousand.

What is there to react to. You have no control over it and odds are you will never even notice the change.

That's an incredibly positive outlook. I mean, really?

i mean, you could very feasibly lose your job depending on who bought it and what their plans and management are like

you don't even need new management to get fired.

No really. And it's not negative, you either loose your job, quit for no real reason, or things change slightly.

Been through these buyouts in the hotel industry, nothing changes except what pocket the money is going into. Maybe you will get a new manager that has a bug up his ass trying to look good for month, that's about it.

Maybe the fact that you are asking how you should react is just showing that there really is nothing to react to.

I mean, it actually just went up for sale on the fifth of this month. I know for a fact that I am the only one employed of the four hdifferent staff divisions (maintenance, security, desk, and housekeeping) that knows this. On the commercial real estate site it says implicitly "DO NOT CONTACT THE STAFF OR EMPLOYEES" in regards to a tour of the property.
