cocksure 07-28-2012, 08:04 AM that's weird, i was listening to rumours on headphones yesterday and it struck me again how fantastic the production is. that dry drum sound man. and never going back again just features the most beautifully recorded acoustic guitar ever

I love the first two Interpol albums and select tracks from the other two.
This is a great performance, Shame Daniel's guitar cuts out at the solo/break.

Killer way to start a work day. Appreciated. One of my favorite Who songs, and Keith just throttles the shit out of those drums. Love it.
On a more calming note, one of the highlights from Bridge School last year - Arcade Fire and Neil doing "Helpless":

I was kinda thinking the same thing when I saw all the classic rock, not that it isn't classic, I've just been over it for some time now.
where's Earth, Wind and Fire and Sister Sledge for that matter? Why don't we just make it easy and say just about anyone who was on Don Kirshner's rock show is worth seeing perform.

It's not Rush. It's Alex Lifeson playing a guitar solo over his friends song and it is a lesson for every guitar player to understand how to be understated yet make a huge impact with a solo.
Dated sounding? Yah, I guess if you consider all guitar rock dated now.

No, guitars are still capable of sounding fresh and new, that solo doesn't. What he's playing is good, but it sounds like a million other solo's from the 70's\80's.
You may not like this song, but the guitar playing here is fresh and not dated at all.

Zed's Records, Long Beach, CA, USA
March 29th, 1992
Bombtrack
Darkness of Greed
Take the Power Back
Bullet in the Head
Settle for Nothing
Killing in the Name
Know Your Enemy
Freedom
