And I just died without saving and have to restart the whole beginning of the game. I think this remake is fucking garbage.

FF3 is the only (old skool) one i haven't played. i enjoyed FFI in a sado machist kind of way so i should pick it up at some point. FF2 is garbage though

Still need to play this one. Er I'm confused. 5 is the one with the "job system", but the wiki says 3 was never released in the US under any title. Gah.

Japanese IV = US II (Cecil / Golbez)
Japanese VI = US III (Kefka)
Japanese III = ported to US in 2006 for DS
Japanese V = also ported later on

ok nvm, I thought Japan VI was US IV.

Have you played V?

from what i've read 3 had a rudimentary job system that 5 later expanded upon.

5 is probably my favorite. it had a shit story but its so fun you don't care

Sweet, I'm going to check it out then. 4 and 6 were awesome and I just can't get into 7

Japanese V is incredible actually. Better than US II/Japanese IV.

The remake is actually pretty fun, but the enemies in the first dungeon immediately blew me away. But all of the controls for the smartphone are pretty intuitive and easy to use. Graphically it kind of reminds me of wild arms' battle sequences. Man, thinking on it they should really sequel that game.

Here's a good one, "Final Fantasy Mystic Quest" was released in Japan as "Final Fantasy USA: Mystic Quest", which was released as "Mystic Quest Legend" in Europe because "Final Fantasy Adventure" was previously released in Europe as "Mystic Quest"

Is the Android remake of III a DS port of sorts? I've never heard of DS to smartphone ports but it's obviously possible

i'm too lazy to check, but probably. they ported the same final fantasy I+II remake to a zillion different platforms with a few touchups here and there
