I'm super glad with how they handled that thread. It would have been lame if he died. And damn, that was powerful. Skylar is going to be extremely fucked up when this is all over.

And also - WTF was up with that opening? It seems that after another year (Walt is roughly 51 by the end of Season 4), Walt has employed Saul's "vanishing vacuum guy", abandoned his family (or lost them), and moved to New Hampshire.

Ok so here's my ranking of the 5 season premieres:

Box Cutter = Pilot > Live Free or Die > Seven Thirty-Seven > No Mas

more likely he killed someone and assumed their identity, perhaps? didn't the waitress call him by some other name?

he wasn't poisoning children and "forgiving" his wife in season two

i don't think he moved to new hampshire. he was somewhere near california, and i assumed it was NM.

nashua to albuquerque is 37 hours, according to google maps. so that makes sense.

That's definitely possible too. He seemed so lifeless, like he had lost everything. My guesses are either:

A. He's done the identity switch and is going to camp out for the rest of his life waiting to be assassinated, or

B. He's going out in a blaze of glory.

Either way it seems Skyler has either taken the family and left, or has been murdered.

It's also possible that he had to kill Hank in order to avoid prison and in doing so has to vanish and abandon his family (thus, Live Free or Die)

You're right. His new car and ID were from NH.

i mean do you think he's just going to let ted live and trust he won't talk about anything with the police? i think not.
