How do you get "apparently the next" from something that was something more like
"intending to release a compilation"?

Sorry someone from Lucky 13/SPRC posted it on the o-board.

Monte clarified the double door is going to be on the TAFH reissue.

the areoplane is set to have a best of Double Doors 1995
then the last two shows in full will likely be set for a release some other way

Billy is our whore. We tell him what we want, and if we don't get it we bitch about the price.

I would much rather he be my girlfriend- do what he pleases an if I'm not satisfied I get up and leave.

Hey Monte are we talkin a DVD of the pro-shot or audio CD?

I wonder how the Aeroplane songs will be repackaged. I mean, like will it be just the 28 non-singles put onto to 2 CDs, or will it keep the same 5 EPs?

I think that the best of the Double Doors shows is a fantastic choice for bonus material. You know what else would be fantastic? If Billy and co. posted one (or more) of the complete shows to archive.org.

They could fit all the non-MCIS tracks (minus the Pistachio Melody) on two discs easily.

That should only confirm to you that the name of the pastiche in question is not spelled "Pistachio Medley".

I'd be all for a Double Door show compilation being the DVD on the TAFH reissue. I don't know if I'm quite as excited about the prospect of soundboard audio taking up a whole bonus disc in the set. There's got to be enough studio material from the MCIS era to make it kind of a waste to resort to releasing live tracks as filler.

a soundboard would be a single mix made at the the time of the recording. this will be a 4 channel proper mix.

I presume that these four tracks were bounced from x number of tracks on the the SOUND BOARD down to four on the recording?

I'm not going to pretend to know what is on the mastertapes, but if it's a multi-track, it's probably not laid out like that, unless this was 1965.

If the mastertapes are truly 4-track, then possibly tracks 1 and 2 are L and R soundboard mix and 3 and 4 are L and R stereo room mics. Or you have an 8-track ADAT recording of 2 guitars, bass, vocals and 4 channels of drums, which would be mixed down to a 2-track stereo mix. By 1996 they were doing that for every show of the MCIS tour, there's no reason it wouldn't be done for a pivotal concert that required band-review of the new material...

But thanks for your answer anyways, a DoorX2 properly mixed live disc would be great.

Are those the only recordings that exist? Was there a studio or demo version recoded? If so, why is he going with one of the live versions?

I am not sure if show 1 was recorded properly. I am not sure if we will ever hear if it was even recorded, Billy didn't seem that interested in looking for it because it was a little bit of a miracle that they found show 2 just the other day. show 3 & 4 they had found easily in April.

I believe there was a demo version recorded not sure about it ever making it to the studio.

Well the bozos at hipsters united have misquoted.. The way they are stating it is that towers of rabble can be expected on either of there issues, but stating the info it will be one of the live performances.

Either way, I'd love to hear a demo or studio version if it exists.. Not that the dd performances of that song aren't ace as well.
