View Full Version : When will Billy grow his hair back?

I wonder if sometime in the next few decades Billy will give up on the Zero character and let his graying hair grow out in all it's balding patterned glory.
Maybe he can grow some burns Neil Young style.

I have a hunch that in the early 90's he noticed his hair was thinning out and started using rogaine. At some point he stopped and it sped up the baldness so he said 'fuck it' and started shaving it.

rogaine only works in 20-30% of men. and it only works on the back of your head, not your forehead/hairline

I used it for 2 years and it didn't seem to help at all. That's when I started shaving my head.

Luckily, I made it to 37 before I had any noticeable hair loss. I think that's about 10 years more than billy got out of his unhealthy scalp.

billy would probably look like shit with hair, so he's better off being shaved. I liked his SD-era hair cause his curls made him look sympathetic somehow, but he isn't in his 20s anymore so...

Corgan should have kept his hair... while he still could have. His insane ego probably would have went over better if he didn't look like such bald dork.

Just look at Bono and that guy from Coldplay, they're pretty much the current versions of Billy in 97.

you think he would have looked better with a comb-over?

fuzzyroes
01-22-2015, 11:41 PM
I dunno. Maybe if he just shaved it super short and not completely bald. It just seemed like once he went completely bald his ego went into mass overdrive and the overall public was just turned off.

It's a shame that looks come into play, but I think it really was part of what turned off the masses.

fuzzyroes
01-22-2015, 11:43 PM
Of course it was his ego that was the main thing that people got fed up with, but he really seemed to get ridiculous... The bald head, the ridiculous leather dresses, the heavy eye makeup, the inflated ego, the decreasing music... The dude didn't do himself any favors as far as public opinion goes.

He did. The male pattern baldness would've been glaringly obvious had he held onto it any longer.

Perhaps, but it didn't look that bad during the BWBFW era. You could see it was thinning in live perforances and all though. He probably should have just shaved it short and rocked it and not pretend that he was going bald for some integrity reasons.

Was he supposed to go with a military cut?

reprise85
01-23-2015, 12:01 AM
that is basically what he did. he shaved it and pretended it was some kind of statement against vanity but he was really doing it because he was going bald and it was starting to look bad

exactly, it was stupid and nobody bought it. He should have just shaved it short and rocked the Bruce Willis look instead of going bald as a billiard ball

I mean the guy kinda looked like a cancer patient or something. It wasn't an enduring look. I personally think it was cool cause he looked so fucking weird, but it's no wonder to me why the masses were offput by it.

what in the fuck does it matter

to anyone who got into them after 1995 that's his signature look anyway

it's kind of odd now that i think about it i guess, considering the eras they'd had before it, but yeah

bald guy with dark clothes & whatnot were the characteristics of the billy corgan i got into, & i never really thought too much about it until i saw the rocket video for the first time pretty much - then it was fairly "trippy"

kingchris
01-23-2015, 02:00 AM
Billy should do a comb over. Let it grow really long on one side and then his hair is back like Samson.

There is also that spray can hair he could do, but as the show goes on his hair would start coming off.

As a last resort he could contact The Hair Club for Men.

But who ever really got into Billy Corgans post 95 material?

Lets face it, if someones a fan it's almost always due to the pre-96 material.

so y'all know how he buzzed his hair very very short in the very beginning of october 95 (that one chicago radio interview with chris fabian sitting in), but he didn't shave it bald - SO THE STORY GOES - until SNL in november. supposedly in between dress rehearsal and show time he freaked out about how his hair looked and just got rid of it all (or tried to - if you look closely, he missed a couple spots). the dress rehearsal footage is available for viewing at the museum of television and radio in manhattan. supposedly

He shaved it because he saw how bad he looked on that November 95' cover of Rolling Stone I would assume. Just like Samson, BC lost his powers when he shaved his hair. His songwriting decline can be linked directly to the loss of his hair.
