To be completely fair, we got release dates for Machina, MSTOS, TFE and Zeitgeist way before we ever got any release dates for James Iha's second solo album

Just sayin'

But logically, James never claimed to be working on anything during this long stretch of time. James has been focused on different things for the past decade. He was never expected to put out a second album. It's not like every year for the past decade he's been saying, "It's almost finished, guys!"

Tinted Windows sucked, APC with Iha sucked, Iha solo sucked

no, he's never said he's finished, but he has said off and on for over a decade that he's making plans for/working on his second solo album.

I could care less about another Iha solo album. I just want to see what he'll contribute to the next A Perfect Circle album.

Didn't Iha write Soma and Mayonaise?

He wrote the intro guitar part of Mayonnaise. I don't know how much of Soma he wrote but he did contribute something to that song.

His songs are sappy and pop-rock sounding compared to Corgan's songs. Every now and then he does something interesting but usually just as a co-writer. The songs he writes all by himself tend to be mediocre.

I'm not getting in a huge debate about this, but Go is easily in the top 5 best songs from the Machina era.

Some of his contribution to TAFH are also some of the better songs from that era. Who doesn't love the Boy?

I can appreciate the Boy for what it is. But it's not really memorable or significant. That's how it goes for a lot of Iha's material.

who cares. James won. He's in better a project now and was smart enough to keep quiet for the most part and let Corgan hang himself. None of the original Pumpkins are in their special band anymore, not even Billy. Its over and cutting down James for any reason is just a thread on Billy's noose.

How ridiculous is it that you expect the world from a beef yankee like Bill Corgan or a ham janitor like Jim Iha

At least we know now that James Iha will release consistently terrible music every 14 years or so.

he helped write them. there's no way James could write songs like those ones by himself.

Hey rockers - maybe you've heard inklings about a Japanese release of a new solo record. Yes! It's happening. "Look To The Sky" comes out this spring on EMI Japan. But for those of you in the rest of the world, it will come out later this year. So stay tuned - we'll keep you posted with release news.

I love James and I love his music, i'm excited to hear what he's come up with. More excited than I am for Oceania.
