Me: Ramones, 88

Yeah, Yeah, Yeah's and TV on the Radio. Both twice.

It's rare for me to see a band more than once.

Nimrod you really must be a dinosaur to have seen the Ramones that many times

I've seen Nils Lofgren 13 times last time I counted. Not sure. Might be more.

I've seen different incarnations of Billy Corgan/SP 7 times

I've seen Nada Surf 4 times.

I don't know if there are any other bands I have seen more than three times.

smashing pumpkins - 5 times

NIN - 3 times
Radiohead - twice
Sigur Ros - twice
Fiona Apple - twice
Muse - twice
Zwan - twice
A Perfect Circle - twice
Tool - twice
The Kills - twice (once was a short set at lolla though)

Oh wait

Alkaline Trio - three times (only mildly ashamed. last time was the Crimson tour and i still enjoy that album and the ones before it. and one was at warped tour. lololol i was a freshman in high school i think.)

i think that's everyone i've seen more than once. it got harder to see shows when i stopped being in/around chicago year round. : /

Drive-By Truckers 10 - Each show was amazing. Best live band on the planet without a doubt.

Hold Steady - 5 (fifth will be tonight). A notch below DBT just because they don't play as long, but every bit as great.

Between the Buried and Me - 3 times - only good show was the one shot for the Colors DVD which was PHENOMENAL, the other two were phoned in, I will never go out of my way to see them again.

old man bill (sp/zwan/solo) uhmmm 18 times... but not since that godawful future embrace tour (ie only actual sp, no sp2 or sp3). and i don't think i paid for a single zwan (or corgan solo) ticket after 2001.

after that it's kozelek 7 times... then robyn 3 times? or arcade fire i saw them a bunch of times between 2003-5.

I'll have to add Pearl Jam as #2, who I have seen 15 times. Once actually with the Ramones.

Though that number will go to 16 this weekend (or 17 depending on how you count a two-day show).

Indoors, spectacular. Outdoors, still pretty fucking great but there was a constant feeling that she might freak out and run off the stage at any moment. But she didn't!

We saw her in Chicago in '06 and, after like three songs, she ran under the piano and sang three songs. Funniest part was that I totally called her doing exactly that before we even got to the venue.

I have a word document with dates/locations/etc for all the bands I've seen but since I don't have it, I'm gonna guess I've seen Kill Hannah maybe 9 times. By far the most of any band. Pretty sure Tegan & Sara and Cake come in close seconds with around 5 each, I think.

Would this have been at northerly island? she was freaking out about killing bugs on the piano... and then she shared that with the crowd and then said, "Fuck you, bugs. I will sit on you now."

Pavillion One, I think it was called. I don't remember what the banter was before hand because I was only mildly interested; I only really got into half of Extraordinary Machine - it was mostly for my ex.

Pumpkins somewhere in the 70's through 2000. Their supporting acts I guess obviously count but can't tell you who I've seen the most along with them.

Toadies 50+ times

Pantera a few dozen times.

Receiving End of Sirens 14 times.

Outside that not many repeats... think I've seen Hum 4 times now.

The Toadies often played for free or at bars that require a $5 cover, that explains how he (and I) have seen them so often. They would play anywhere just to be heard.

Pantera and Toadies were locals. Toadies played literally any and all venues available for many years.

As far as the pumpkins. I don't think pumpkin stalking was too uncommon during the MCIS/Adore/ARISING/Machina era. There are plenty of people who have been to far more pumpkin shows than I attended during that era.

more than 70?

The majority of my attendance dates were during sacred and profane and arising tours. There were multiple people who were at literally every single show I went to during that period and can only imagine they were doing this before and afterwards to some extent.

When you're a teenager/early 20's type its cute and adventurous. Nowadays it seems absurd because it means you're on par with Monte.

Every "rock" band I can remember seeing live would fall somewhere between 1 and 9 times.

But I've seen a LOT of ska bands so many times I can't count them. The most being Mustard Plug. I've probably seen them live 100 times or more. but I used to do merch and stuff for them so it probably doesn't count. When I went on the road with them I'd get to see a lot of other punk and ska bands. Half of them I can't even remember. Some of them i wish I could forget.

People were really, really obsessive with SP. I think if you didn't see the band in its prime (and at a young age) you probably can't appreciate how crazy people got over the whole thing.

yeah it was a different era

Had gone to all of the Arising shows (which wasnt a huge undertaking since half the shows had b2b nights at the venues.

when i turned 18 i cashed in all my savings bonds i had been given over the years. Added up to $7200 and used all the cash to pick out places all around the US that I could drive to in order to see the US as much as possible. Got to see a lot of the US and see a few dozen shows of SP during the sacred and profane tour.

Were a couple of SP fans who i got to know who would blatantly be like "are you going to (Insert City Here) ? Can I catch a ride? Wanna split a hotel? Can I ride with you for a week until (insert city here) ?

It was just a weird and wild group of people and it didn't seem abnormal to be following this band around the country. Gas wasn't expensive... it was feesable to get someone to pitch in $5 for gas to the next city and $15 for a spot on the hotel room floor... get 4 people to do that per night and you're set.

Raid the breakfast bar each morning.... the body can live well off of small boxes of cereal and tiny cups of juice
