I had a terrible nostalgia kick when driving back from family yesterday evening. Live @ reading was booming from the speakers, and i was screaming out loud to aneurysm. Some people on the road might have thought i was nuts. cocksure 05-07-2011, 08:20 AM aero zeppelin is my favourite nirvana song i think, i don't think many would agree with that TuralyonW3 05-07-2011, 01:44 PM ^ Awesome weird song. FoolofaTook 05-07-2011, 04:30 PM Frances Farmer "...leave a blanket of ash on the ground." EyesOfAJackal 05-07-2011, 06:35 PM Incesticide is underrated as a whole Pretty much. I think Allmusic wrote that this album best reflected Nirvana's overall character, even though it's kind of disjointed, and I agree with that EyesOfAJackal 05-07-2011, 06:35 PM Because it's disjointed, I guess smashingjj 05-07-2011, 08:02 PM aero zeppelin is my favourite nirvana song i think, i don't think many would agree with that I do agree that that is your favourite Nirvana song, but yes, many probably won't agree that it is. cocksure 05-08-2011, 06:30 AM many would not agree with that notion, you baboon Toast 05-08-2011, 09:23 AM They had a way better sound with Dale than with Dave. I think Allmusic wrote that this album best reflected Nirvana's overall character, even though it's kind of disjointed, and I agree with that Fuck, I've been saying this for like 15 years. Ihaguitar 05-08-2011, 05:56 PM They had a way better sound with Dale than with Dave. More disjointed, you mean. Dave is a far better drummer technically. But because Kurt was a shit guitarist and couldnt sing very well, and Nova was a nutjob bassist, Dale fitted in the band better. Catherine Wheel 05-08-2011, 05:59 PM Come As You Are is the only song I keep coming back to by them. It makes me very nostalgic and sad. There is almost a haunting feel to it. Ihaguitar 05-08-2011, 06:20 PM Come As You Are is the only song I keep coming back to by them. It makes me very nostalgic and sad. There is almost a haunting feel to it. One of their better songs for sure. Here is my personal compilation of the best of all the studio b-sides/album outtakes. I tried to objectively pick the 15 best songs that were never on any of the 4 albums, and sequenced them to be a cohesive album, with volumes adjusted for some semblance of audio-continuity. I like to think of it as a sequel to Incesticide. I call it Formaldehyde... http://i928.photobucket.com/albums/ad123/soniclovenoize/folder.jpg http://www.mediafire.com/?dl6t3ic1yi6dny8 *btw all tracks sourced from their original releases, not the box set (unless they were exclusive to the box set itself). For example, "Oh The Guilt" is the version from the split single, so it has Cobain's flickering lighter, and so forth. 1. You Know You're Right 2. Sappy 3. Even In His Youth 4. Spank Thru 5. Really stuck out from the radio when it came out a couple of years. Sappy and I Hate Myself And Want To Die are good picks as well. I never hear it on radio. Great tune though either way. soniclovenoize 05-16-2011, 08:45 PM for real? I never hear it on radio. Great tune though either way. Yeah, they kinda media-blitzed it because it was the "LAST NIRVANA SONG!" and so if anything it wound be overrated, but it's such an awesome song, I refuse to talk shit about it. I remember getting a bootleg--I think it was Outcesticide V--with the crappy live version of You Know You're Right sometime in the late 90s, and I thought it was a cool song, but wished I could someday hear the studio version. I shit my pants when I first heard it when the Greatest Hits came out. Thanks guys, this thread actually made me rediscover Nirvana! I just dl'd my three favorite bootlegs from back in the day, Trick or Treat, Roma and Out of The Blue (the three best boots from the three eras of the band) and currently listening non-stop.
