Mike Reina, the singer-songwriter working with former Smashing Pumpkins drummer Jimmy Chamberlin on a band called This, has revealed the status of that band’s first project to music site betterPropaganda (HT: The Machine Somehow):
Great Civilizations, the first release from THIS will be available for download mid October at bandcamp and the vinyl release will follow shortly thereafter.

While Billy toots his own horn about the new lineup, his bullshit 'happiness' in where he is, and his 'revolutionary' new music and its means of delivery for the past year, Jimmy quietly and classily writes / records / releases a greater quantity of music than Billy without ever bragging a whit about it.
And I gats 100 bucks on the table sez the quality of music on "This" is 5x that of anything on Teargarden.
samuel redman 10-10-2010, 08:31 PM yesss,

paranoid 10-10-2010, 08:42 PM the band name is terrible and so is the record title. i'm hoping the music kicks ass though.

killtrocity 10-10-2010, 08:56 PM I am far more excited about This than anything "the smashing pumpkins" may happen to put out
I do agree about the band name Paranoid... album title is fine though. Sounds good. Especially when juxtaposed with anything with the word "Kaleidyscope" in it.

wHATcOLOR 10-10-2010, 09:55 PM always pumped for anything w/ jimmy. i did listen to the singer/songwriter guy's previous project and it sounded awful, so hopefully this is entirely different

slunken 10-10-2010, 11:18 PM THIS is a fun side-project, but I'd rather hear Jimmy do something worthy of his talents.
