View Full Version : Thru The Eyes of Ruby Appreciation
ilikeplanets 10-05-2010, 10:11 PM This song...
Lyrics= delightfully chilling
Billy's vocals: Here he uses a range of styles...melodic, whining, that little fade thing he does, screaming...and they all work and keep things interesting
Drumming= PERFECT, I love Jimmy
Guitars: Mastered! In this song the guitars take you on a journey through a dark, crushing hell and spit you out into a more empowered and psychedelic place.
Outro=great place for a long fade out! I usually hate these but this song requires some time to process after listening. Then that sweet little guitar jam at the end:D
The song is epic, what more can I say..
Corganist 10-05-2010, 10:33 PM I don't understand why people here love this song so much. It's really overrated.
....
:D
But seriously, the song rules.
ilikeplanets 10-05-2010, 10:39 PM I tried to explain why I like it :p

ilikeplanets 10-05-2010, 11:38 PM everything you post is so blinky...
stumpycat 10-05-2010, 11:54 PM Nah, this song is NOT overrated. It deserves its reputation. The music itself epically powerful. The guitar effects blend and intermingle very naturally and wholistically, contributing as a whole to the dreamy soundscape in a way that few arrangements can actually achieve.
Rickpat12 10-05-2010, 11:56 PM easily my favorite Pumpkins track of all time.
but still...I hate you and all your dumb ass threads.
Shallowed 10-05-2010, 11:59 PM Porcelina is better by a very long shot.
Astur 10-06-2010, 01:56 AM The Glastonbury '97 arrangement is EPIC
slunken 10-06-2010, 03:26 AM Porcelina is better by a very long shot.
no fucking way. porcelina has great lyrics but it's not a better song.
ilikeplanets 10-06-2010, 03:51 AM Yeah, the music during porcelina's verse is somewhat weak but the bridge and chorus kick ass
pineapple*soul 10-06-2010, 06:15 AM A prime example of Jimmy's drumming making a good song a great song
Astur 10-06-2010, 09:47 AM i think both porcelina and ruby rule equally
applepwnz 10-06-2010, 10:09 AM I've always liked ruby better than porcelina
Slurpee 10-06-2010, 11:55 AM The Glastonbury '97 arrangement is EPIC
You could not be more right.
zero machine 10-06-2010, 09:26 PM Simply the BEST pumpkins song ever!!!!
Perfect, complete......I wish he could make songs like that again..
It is incredible how the studio version rocks and the live version rocks even more.
aomb1979 10-06-2010, 09:53 PM 07.05.97 ftw
Shallowed 10-07-2010, 01:21 AM I'm tellin' ya, Porcelina is better.
ilikeplanets 10-07-2010, 01:30 AM Porcelina is prettier, but not better
Shallowed 10-07-2010, 01:42 AM No, it is both.
ilikeplanets 10-07-2010, 01:51 AM I think we should both try to scientifically prove ourselves....oh wait
This is like having a fucking "oxygen appreciation thread" you fucking obvious thread making retard.
ilikeplanets 10-09-2010, 05:44 AM You really dig the song, too, huh? One more for side Ruby!!!
Yeah, cause if we don't join forces Corgan is going to make something that completely kicks Ruby's ass!
ilikeplanets 10-09-2010, 05:54 AM I refuse to have faith in the future that way. I accept your partnership with open arms :)
killtrocity 10-09-2010, 01:54 PM In this song the guitars take you on a journey through a dark, crushing hell and spit you out into a more empowered and psychedelic place.
Dark and hell are not words I would use to describe the guitars in this song. Crushing, yes.
Also, you forgot "lie-burning"
Trotskilicious 10-09-2010, 10:53 PM Hello Kitty Kat and Geek USA blow this shit out of the water. I honestly think MCIS and songs like this are when the Pumpkins started to spoil.
stumpycat 10-10-2010, 05:12 PM ^

Quit trying to wind people up...
