The song is not amazing..but I would rather watch him TRY than hear him play 15 year old songs. Cuz when I listen to the originals, it just makes me sad...like, why can't you have passion for GOOD music still?

thanks, this version is great! Those chord progressions come out good in acoustic I think. In terms of melody, this is finally something great. If only the lyrics were better.
His voice wasn't really hitting the tones at some occasions. Plus, gay hand movement at the end

Seems like a wasted opportunity to give the couple a memorable 'moment' at their wedding. Though, I wouldn't complain, but common, pull out SIYL, or Tonite, or anything that might mean something to the couple that they'll NEVER forget.

He really should have released this song with him and an acoustic. This song is actually good, but the studio version just sucks horribly.
As for 'fat uncle' Billy, well, everyone gets old man. Billy just sucks at it. At leas he has that young 20 something girlfriend though, I guess that's something...

I watched the whole set list and I think most of the new songs are wonderful done acoustically and without being backed by crappy musicians like Byrne and bass-woman. I was really starting to think some of those were quality songs finally but then I watched the encore of Tonight Tonight and got sad again..

The reason I'd rather him stick to new material is that when he does bust out old jams they're just awful renditions.

I know what you mean slunken. It is def less painful to see him play the new stuff. It is appropriate and he can do it with pride. But when you hear the chord progressions on some of those timeless gems...you can just tell they are btter songs. :/

he barely remembers the chord progression half the time and can't remember the lyrics and yet when he does manage that he rushes the words as if he were coming up with some new striking counter-melody of a timeless classic that will live again. pah.

You're overthinking what I said just a bit. I'm not sure if he's trying to style the songs differently or is just so irritated at playing for 15 years. All I meant is that even though it's miserable (I will admit that) to watch him grimace through an oldie, it's still obvious that they were far better songs.
