My nephew and I found a snare drum in my shed and we're trying to figure out a few songs to learn, just for fun. So help me out with a few songs that can be played with just a snare, an acoustic, and vocals. We figured out a pretty niftey version of Hotel Yorba :D

Spend 50 bucks on a bass drum, a tom and some cymbals.

Dude, we're just trying to fuck around and learn some stuff TONIGHT. This isn't no long term project hehe. We just added Blister in the Sun to our repetoire btw :D

We had some pretty impressive improvised jams going. This can be lots of fun. Anyone know any good sites with drum loops or like a free drum machine that can be downloaded? We're getting really into this :D Neither of us can keep a rhythm on the drum for shit though so we keep fighting over the guitar.

Fun fact: I've been playing guitar for 16 years now and have NEVER played in a real band.

edit: We found a few sites with free loops (freeloops.com, go figure lol) but the rhythm is off when they loop in iTunes? Any suggestions? Is there better software available for this or are the loops that we found simply not edited right? I think it's a synching/lagging problem due to iTunes.

you really need to add a bass drum to "play a song" and it sound right, unless one of you is an absolutely amazing snare player

many bands have existed/do exist with only a snare/hi-hat combo.

Going with my King of the Hill theme, you can play Feels So Good on just guitar (playing the flugelhorn part) and snare. Feels Good Man
