I have been following each song that has been released monthly, and I honestly haven't really liked them. They felt more like b-sides that wouldn't make the cut to an actual 11-14 song album. I don't know, even A Song For A Son's musical construction felt a little off with the random solo among other things.

But Freak is actually pretty good, kind of refreshing. Everything blends nicely in the song and Billy sounds pretty enthusiastic vocally. And it's nice that the lyrics weren't incredibly repetitive in it lol. All the other TBK songs I've listened to once or twice, but I've been replaying Freak a few more times to say the least.

Maybe this will continue to progress as he moves away from Spirits in the Sky stuff and into actual new material. Still wish he was just releasing this under that name, wouldn't have the same expectations and frustration without Jimmy.
