I stayed in Waco for a few months with my Aunt. A pretty weird place.

The Texas Rangers Museum sucks, but the Dr Pepper Museum is actually kind of cool.

It's the second-to-worst town in Texas, behind Beaumont.

What do you want to know? The only redeeming thing is Baylor University (a great school) and it is an hour and a half from Austin.

Waco is the ideological headquarters of the Southern Baptist Convention. And home to the former Luby's where a guy crashed his car and shot up 11 or someodd people.

I know the area well. Ask away, my friend.

Oh fuck that's right. My wife's parents live like 15 minutes from it, no idea why I said that happened in Waco.

my mom was a teacher in killeen at the time. she ate at that luby's with a bunch of her teacher friends about an hour before it happened.

didn't the David Koresh thing with the branch Dravidian happen there back in the early 90's?
big religious compound attacked by the FBI.
75 people died (including 20 kids) in the gas attacks.
those times seemed pretty fucked up IIRC. Janet Reno is blamed for everything.

i have no idea if you might be considering moving there, but that would be crazy unless it's your only option. i've never been, but i know a bad idea when i hear one. stick to the big cities and little towns of TX, and even then watch out!

Fuck Texas.

I really hope that I live to see the state secede.

We should've just let the entire South become the CSA when they wanted to.

I like how they brutally murdered the guy but still took the time to cover his cooked cock.
