The kiwis played really well against Australia last night. Definitely had the measure of them in the first half despite those thuggish tackles. Great work from the big forwards, Fallon was outstanding and Chris Wood looked every bit as promising as he's made out to be when he came on. He'll be playing premier league next year for West Brom, v.exciting. Heartbreaking to see that second goal go in on in the literal last second of the game.

I'm looking forward to NZ being the 31st or 32nd best team at the cup. Our best shot is against Slovenia and we'd have to play very good football to come away with a draw against them.

i dont know much about american football but i can say that rugby takes a mental / muscle combination of at last an ice hockey level.

ice hockey has an artificially high ranking because of the novelty value. it's not a sport anyone really plays here and i hardly ever watch it on tv (i.e., once every two or three years). if i watched it often, maybe i'd think it was boring and overly physical like rugby. who knows
