Why don't you listen to some real electronica, like DubChild vs DMV or Nu Spank. <<dsfd>/clint> mono 03-08-2003, 09:46 PM Originally posted by Graveflower I suggest Royksopp for fans of the following artists: Moby No. strange_one 03-09-2003, 01:30 AM eh I bought the Royksopp disc when it was first released here, but I soon sold it since it just wasn't hitting me. one track, the single 'Lupe' I think its called, is great though crescentfresh 03-09-2003, 03:43 AM Originally posted by Graveflower I suggest Royksopp for fans of the following artists: Dirty Vegas Moby Car Commercials  patrick 03-09-2003, 05:07 AM Originally posted by strange_one eh I bought the Royksopp disc when it was first released here, but I soon sold it since it just wasn't hitting me. one track, the single 'Lupe' I think its called, is great though you sell cds? strange_one 03-09-2003, 10:21 AM Originally posted by failure you sell cds? if I grow weary of them, or I think there is no place for them in my collection, yes Squashing Pineapples 03-09-2003, 01:07 PM Arguably one of the best releases of 2002 and unquestionably one of the most original, the filmic, dreamy and mostly instrumental Melody A.M.--from Norwegian duo Svein Berge and Torbjorn Brundtland, or Röyksopp--finds uncommon beauty in the study of contrasts. At once frosty and lush, austere and joyful, ambient and wildly detailed, Melody A.M. is equal parts classical, electronica and film score, but with way better optics. Yes, optics--or at least that's how it feels. Opening track "So Easy" lulls with a gently whispered chant casually draped over what sounds like plucked harp strings while technicolor gurgles and bloopy keyboards sputter in the **********. The sweeping, beatbox-damaged "Eple"--its cascading piano notes exploding into tiny white flashes of light--is as panoramic as the Nordic vistas that inspired it. Cinematic strings flood through "In Space," creating a real sense of velocity. Like Philip Glass or Boards of Canada, Röyksopp are minimalists who wring every bit of juice out each note without ever losing sight of the emotional core. Melody A.M. is music as painting, in watercolor, and destined to be a sleeper classic for the ages mono 03-09-2003, 02:18 PM It was released in 2001, Mr. Yesterday Squashing Pineapples 03-09-2003, 03:40 PM Originally posted by mono It was released in 2001, Mr. Yesterday Sorry, I just discovered them lately, Mr. Weekend Update. |
