I've got RTS in SHN. I think I'm sharing them on the hub, when I'm logged into it / the wife/kid doesn't turn off the computer.

Power failure. That too, would cause you to not be logged in.

Not paying the Internet bill. You wouldn't be connected then. I hate when that happens.

If it's only a few songs, PM me and I can send em to you.

Otherwise I'm seeding them on ZOMB right now.

Bump.

I'm looking for Reel Time Sessions I and Reel Time Sessions II if possible in any lossless format. I checked Zomb but they only have that 13 remaster shit of the RTS.

Oh, his remaster of that sounds fine.

agreed, the 13 remaster on zomb is the best sounding source

He really fucked up other stuff, Machina 2 for instance, but the orignal RTS sessions really needed it, seeming as it was just unmastered final mixes from a DAT made in 1989 anyways.

I took those masters and reconstructed the Moon demo, and man does it sound great!

I wish this kind of stuff was allowed on archive.org

So he didn't fuck up RTS? Okay, I'll give them a go, thanks. :)

I don't tend to hear much good feedback on thirteen's "remasters". What is actually bad about them?

It's usually unnecessary and often brickwalled and even clipping. His remaster of the Friends & Enemies of Modern Music is fucking terrible. He likes to make acoustic songs equally loud as the full-band rockers. And all his torrent notes start out "This is dedicated to the people who say I should stop doing this!" and so forth.

It's also polluting the lineage pool, because his remasters are now more common than the originals (see this whole thread!). If you're gonna do this, make sure the originals are equally as available.

I think others like GuitaroSlingero or (dick)Rider will have a more professional opinion. I am certainly not a mastering engineer, but by my ear he's ruined some of my favorite SP bootlegs, although some of them he has improved (RTS for one).

This is very true indeed as in the case of RTS - there's no 'originals' available anymore it seems for those whom like to have the originals and "remasters".

So around My Dahlia, when he says, "seventeen fifty an hour to get my laugh on tape," does he mean $1,750? Damn, studio time is expensive.

No, probably $17.50/hour for studio time. And that's cheap. My new band, we just had a lock-in 8-hour session for $250 (which thus was about $30/hour).

Yeah, exactly. Our total bill was $1000, and since it was a buddy of ours, he even let us do payments! :D

I'm thinking that Reel Time Studios was just Mark Ignoffo's basement.
