Yo guys.

I want to show people the awesomeness of SP in concert but dont want to give them a crap audience bootleg. I got all their shows but i dont know which ones are soundboard particulary, I know Reading 95 is a smasher, just wondered if there were any 91-97 soundboards/fm that just rock.

Think the 2000 tour is for a mature pumpkin fan looking to hear some different stuff, want to hear some of that raw shredding youth.

Cheers for any help.

That is an especially rockin show. It was their first show after winning 7 VMAs. They played bodies in the final encore before veering out into space with silverfuck. They made Matt play Siva even though he'd only very recently learned it. Did a pretty good job. Cherub Rock kicks ass too. I'm so glad this was my first pumpkins show, although I would have loved to see them on their Siamese Dream tour.

u got it. i was there too. i cut classes and took a five hour bus ride. had great seats right off stage right. there was so much momentum behind the band at the time. i remember they kept teasing Siva before finally ripping into it. and the encores just kept going. crowd was so into it too. arena rock at its finest.

There's Vancouver '97 that was a radio broadcast. It was pretty good for an Infinite Sadness era show.

8/14/93 is a must
7/4/93 classic acoustic show
Rock in Rio '96 is an awesome video one
Brixton Academy '96 another awesome video one

5/11/96 is worth listening to for tru fans but not for your purposes. This is the show that chick died and it's really, really creepy.

Yeah, 97-01-08 (Jan 8, '97) (http://www.archive.org/details/tsp1997-01-08.flac16) is an amazing show. Not just the Silverfuck was incredible, but the Porcelina/Rocket combo and Eyes of Ruby, as well as the middle part of Siva.

Oslo, april of 96 is one of the bands favorite shows, or so I read. I was there, and I understand why. Epic performance and one of my fondest concert memories of all time.

at one point i started making a list of all the shows that have "questionable" corgan behavior and now i can't find it. this wasn't on it though.

i think it was in that SPinner interview where he was like oh 'it still feels like pumpkins and sounds like pumpkins and if it didn't i would admit it' ... so i would say its reasonable that someone who socializes with pornstars and tila tequila is this delusional ... kinda obvious why jimmy is gone.

there was a concert they did in Europe somewhere a couple months after MCIS came out ... and it had a version of Ruby where he starts just like growling during the jam outro... ive been trying to find that one for a long time...

i used to have a tape of it. I think it was broadcast over the radio at the time so it was a good recording... ending with a chilled out silverfuck extended in an early incarnation.

one moment i remember he says by our new album "Teddy Jar and the Infinite Squids" ... anyone know where this show can be found?

Best Place I saw the band (and this was during their comeback tour) was in San Francisco at the legendary Fillmore. I drove six hours for that show and moved completely in to a new apartment, but it was worth it.

Speaking of the Smashing Pumpkins...

I am a graduate student with Cal. State East Bay, doing a study on the Smashing Pumpkins. I am hoping to interview current fans and former fans. Being part of the interview would give you a chance to sort of voice your opinion about the way the band has changed etc. If this sounds like something you may want to participate in go ahead and fill out this short survey. Smashing Pumpkins Survey

Thanks!

Hadn't heard a full version of Speed before, that was cool. It's really painful when BC gets insecure and melodramatic over nothing and tries to sound tough, though, like at the end of the special winner song.
