i imagine that most of you have cable, a dish, or whatever payservice for television watching purposes, but how is everyone else feeling about this converter box business?

personally, i prefer a staticy/snowy picture to this weirdcolored pixelized disruption business when the signal is interrupted. i had to move the box and antenna near the window to get a decent picture. honestly, i don't understand the reason for The Switch. were we running out of airwave space? was there money to be made somewhere? this makes me feel old.

let's just say that i don't have a televison anymore.

if it wasn't for nhl and nfl i wouldn't have any cable, but as it stands now i spend a kabillion dollars per month for hdtv which i don't use for anything but jeopardy all summer.

pretty sure i read somewhere that this frees up airwave space for faster wireless internet and cell phones.

besides, dtv has a much better picture. get a better antenna, mount it as high as possible, or the best option: mount your antenna outside on the roof.

I haven't really had any problems. people used to think I was weird for not having tv, but hey! I get 6 channels now.

i definitely get more channels now, but i still only watch 2 or 3 of them.

fuck TV. DVDs of good TV shows are where it's at.

i have to agree with you, a snowy picture is better than the pixelation/ no picture this new shit is bringing. but on the bright side the only tv show i ever really watch is conan and the night reception is decent.

i heard the reason for the switch was so emergency services can use all the analog wavelength, ie 911 storm services perhaps a new civil unrest hotline.

and i'm sure the conspiracy freaks have a entire crackpot theory for the switch

i haven't had a television set for 10 months

my television is useless now except for watching movies/playing video games. no channels over here. oh well
