Make sure you take advantage of any opportunity to sleep. The shittiest thing about working like a maniac is the inevitable sleep debt that's accrued. I worked 84 hours last week... it fucking sucked.

i'd be working two jobs, call center 4 days a week and apprenticing with a welder 2-3 of them.

no, but i could use the extra cash and the apprenticeship thing may actually pay off in the end so i no longer have to work in the call center.

It sucks. Especially if you like to do aaaanything in your spare time. After working 6-7 days a week for 10-12 hours a day, you're just going to want to eat, sleep, shower, work. Repeat.

When I did that, I became even more of a hermit than usual. Didn't answer most phone calls, didn't leave the house except for work/grocery shopping/never came out into the living room, just stayed in bed whenever I was home.

So it's rough, especially since apprenticing with the welder won't pay anything.

I am lazy and avoid work at all costs, but I remember the one time I did work what would be considered a whole lot of hours, and it's weird how being at work somehow normalizes and it seems being at work is more natural than being at home or elsewhere.

oh that's cool. A friend of mine is an apprentice at a glass-blowing studio, and he only JUST was able to start making pieces that he can sell, and he's been there for well over a year.

In that case, go for it. It'll be nice that you can get a good jump on the apprenticeship, while getting paid and stuff. Just don't plan for a social life.

well if you are unsupervised i recomend listeing to your mp3 player and talking lots of breaks, but it sounds like you will not be so, yeah just sleep whenever you can, geat a really comfy pair of shoes and prepare for you wallet to grow fat while your social live fades away.

That'd be tough. Particularly in a call center. I did a stint in that line of work, and I hated it.

I worked in call centers for, all together, 3 1/2 years of my life. Never again. While it's ended up giving me a good phone voice, I'd have to be pretty desperate to go back.
