i liked fallout3 a lot, kinda thought resident evil 5 was a joke though, and just like that theres no more games to look forward to until december. so can any of you recomend some great time consuming ps3 games?

i just got burnout paradise discounted because its a greatest hits game. it's pretty easy and mindless for a racing/ crashing game. but it definitely burns up a lot of time. graphics are so nice on the hdtv.

killzone 2. great but kinda short single player mode. haven't gotten around to online multiplayer though. amazing graphics on that one too.

god ps3 sucks. the only game i've played on mine has been disgaea 3.
which is VERY time consuming.
but awesome, if you're into jsrpg's.

If Saint's Row 2 is out for the PS3, I'd recommend it, but I'm just a poor man with an xbox 360 and a Sony 27" Trinitron WEGA TV. That Blu-Ray shit is useless to me.

i have both xbox 360 and ps3. the only exclusives the xbox has going for it is halo and gears of war

im not saying ps3 is shit, just that i know a bunch of folk with 360s who are happy with them, and a handful of people with ps3s who think they backed the wrong horse. a lot of this is also down to the fact that a lot of my 360 owning mates play together, but the ps3 folk dont.

im not a fan of halo at all and i think gow is ok, but hugely overrated... not a big fan of fps games on consoles though. although in saying that, isnt left4dead 360 only though?

gaiden 2, mass effect, lost and the damned, dead rising and supposedly fable 2, saints row 2, beautiful katamari and too human ... all pretty good and i think they're all xbox only.

I am happy i picked up my ps3 over the xbox, it's true xbox has a lot of exclusives...but ps3 has metal gear! and i mean so there arent that many great games out for ps3 now, but this year a lot of great ones are comming out and even next year.

and im really happy i am backing a system that is most famously know for overheating. no one has ever had to 'towel' a ps3.

I'm a PS3 guy (I'm finally getting mine fixed, woo-hoo!). I see a lot of 360 fanboys in this thread and I thought I'd represent. As far as I can tell, the only reason to buy a 360 is if you're a fan of shooters and/or are hardcore into playing games on X-Box live. I prefer to play shooters and online games on the PC. Halo's just okay IMO, and I never got into Fable or Gears of War. Most of the rest of the good 360 games can be found on the PS3 as well.
As for good exclusive PS3 games...

MGS4
Killzone 2 (if you like shooters)
Resistance 2 (if you like shooters)
Ninja Gaiden Sigma
Little Big Planet
Burnout: Paradise

According to id Software, Rage (when it comes out) will look far better on the PS3 than on the 360 because of the raw capacity of Blu-Ray discs (id's uncompressed prototype build of Rage was a whopping terrabyte).

Oh, and the next Gran Turismo game, if nothing else, looks like it'll be sweet.

All MGS games have some ridiculousness. MGS4, despite a few parts that reek of bullshit, actually has some sweet gameplay.

Speaking of MGS as a movie, I've got some ideas of actors and actresses I think would be good in certain roles in the game series, if they ever actually follow through with plans to make an MGS movie:

Solid Snake - Kurt Russell (DUH!)
Otacon - Cillian Murphy (this was the toughest choice I made! Hard to think of an actor who's not too old, not too young and is believably nerdy enough for the role.)
Liquid Snake - Christian Bale (Batman, meet American Psycho)
Ocelot - Daniel Craig (the anti-Bond role. This would be sweet!)
Naomi - Jennifer Connolly (Her MGS4 incarnation reminds me a lot of her)
Gray Fox - Hugo Weaving (Yes, I'm thinking of V for Vendetta right now)
Meryl - Jessica Biel (believable badass white chick...with a great butt)
Col. Campbell - Jon Voight (perfect fit)
Major Zero - Liam Neeson (another perfect fit)
Raiden - James McAvoy (just young enough)
