THE MARS VOLTA: OCTAHEDRON
Out June 23 on Warner Bros. Records (NORTH AMERICA) and June 22nd on Mercury Records (REST OF WORLD)
The Mars Volta's fifth studio album, Octahedron, will be released June 23 by Warner Bros. Records in North America and on June 22nd on Mercury Records in the rest of the world.
The first single in North America will be "Since We've Been Wrong" while overseas it will be Cotopaxi.
Anyone else curious? I thought Bedlam was a step in the first direction after the rather average Amputechture. While De-Loused is still probably their proudest work to date, I still listen to Frances the Mute from time to time. Wonder if Flea and John Frusciante are featured in any way this time around..
Anyways, I'm aware that TMV is not very much in vogue these days (although just about everyone had their cocks hard for them back in 2004 or so). I saw them live during the Frances the mute era and they left quite an impression. Ever since then I've tried to keep up to date with the new stuff. While Thomas Pridgen is good, I still gravitate towards the Jon Theodore era stuff.
Feel free to add the mandatory "Relationship in Command > Every TMV album" posts.
Here's the new single, Cotopaxi:
